Batch tools for sample editing?

I'm having a bit of a problem. I need a powerful tool to help me batch process samples. Convert to different formats, remove noise etc etc.

Now I know that Audacity has some of these tools, but the problem is that they're totally inadequate for my needs. It's pretty much like sawing wood with a sparsely toothed comb.

So what other tools are there available?

iZotope RX does batch processing, I just don't know about converting...

all you need is adobe audition (cool edit pro).
