boss SL-20 slicer pedal model available in Amplitube or Guitar Rig?

Wondering if the Boss SL-20 Slicer pedal has been modeled in plugin form, maybe in Amplitube or Guitar Rig, or perhaps some other company?

Nevermind, looks like CamelSpace can do all this and more. Curious to know if they modeled one though, but I think I'm set for that effect.

It's basically a stereo step sequenced gate. Guitar Rig 5 has that and Amplitube 3 has one too ("Step Slicer"). In Amplitube it's only available as a post-amp rack effect. I doubt it's in the free version though.

I'm also no longer current with the Boss Slicer, but if it requires LFO modulation of parameters (like pan) you can't do that with the Amplitube step sequencer (you can manually set the pan per step though). GR basically lets you modulate anything.

You're set with Camelspace, but it's frankly a bit harder to set up than the two options above if all you want is slicing. I'd also wager you could emulate a lot if not most of Camelspace with Guitar Rig (not Amplitube though). Might be fun.

Thank you for the AWESOME reply wasi! I must admit I'm not as fluent in Guitar Rig as I should be (own Komplete mainly for the synths/Kontakt and haven't dove into Guitar Rig much yet) but its awesome to hear this is possible! Thank you very, VERY much for the great reply!

For fun I pulled up the "Gater" effect in guitar rig and you're right, if all you're looking for is consistent slices its way fast to just do it in Guitar Rig, but I can basically achieve the same thing just as fast with Logic's own Tremolo plugin. However, the power in Camelspace (or the Boss slicer) is that you can program your own patterns. Is there a way to do this in Guitar Rig?

Will have to explore this more, but thanks again for showing me this path existed in the first place!!

LGK_Dude, glad to help, not sure I already did though. Check out the 'Trance Gate' preset in GR5. You basically set up a volume pedal and a 'step sequencer', then click and hold the little crossed arrows next to the "Step Sequencer" name and drag them to the volume slider. Now the step sequencer controls the volume slider. You can set the rythm in the step sequencer and save it as a preset within the step sequencer and set attack decay, width (how much the volume pedal moves per step impulse) and pedal offset.

If you want per-step control over the volume changes you use the "Analog Step Sequencer" device instead, it has sliders not buttons (same as Amplitube).

For panning you'd use the same concept by dragging the analog step sequencer onto the pan control of 'Control Room' or any effect down the line, as long as the signal hasn't been split into parallel channels. If you don't have anything in your rack with it's own pan button use a 'split' device, pan A and B hard left and right and drag the step sequencer 'arrow' icon onto the crossfader.

'Slide' adjust how instantaneous the modulation is. All the way down means immediate on/off, the higher the values the more gradual the change. If you set it too high it may not reach the inteded value before the next step gets triggered. Steps can be tempo synced 4ths, 8ths, 16ths and 32nds.

You can drag all that into a 'container' device and save that for further use instead of building it from scratch every time (i.e. necxt time you just drop your container in and select the 'slicer' preset of the container).


IIRC the Amplitube Step Slicer has both gate and pan control in one device (Peter, help me out here). No assembly required (which also means none allowed )

Its actually one of my favorite effects inside of AmpliTube. I use it on guitar synths and vocals too.
