Since pro tools doesn't include The ability to disable software monitoring during recording (for non-HD or CMPT systems) it's not possible to use zero latency monitoring through external Hardware/software mixers. A plugin exists here

That Works around this limitation by using midi to trigger muting of the audio track when punched in and un-muting when punched out.
Unfortunatatly it's Mac OS only. In talking with the developer they told me they tried to make a windows rtas version but ran into a brick wall with the way win rtas handles midi.
Maybe Valhalla dsp can figure out a way to do this?
