To me, the filters in K5 are quite an advancement from previous filters...

Not really, nothing diplomatic about it. My personal opinion. The filters behave a LOT better than old ones (especially w.r.t. clipping when using lots of resonance), and some are simply juicy (Daft). Not the best filters ever, but a definitive improvement over the old ones.
