Ok well Im pretty new to audio editing, although I've been using reaper and cubase for a little while and just recently got addictive drums. Anyways, what I really want to know is if there are any good symphonic/orchestral/strings synths out there. I'm making symphonic type music and I really want to know if there are any or if anyone has used any. I'm looking for synths like these:
http://www.4shared.com/mp3/5qNNDlRI/synth_1.html http://www.4shared.com/mp3/VJjXbGTR/synth_2.html http://www.4shared.com/mp3/i1BCOuy1/synth_3.html http://www.4shared.com/mp3/6KZFLoPu/synth_4.html The only thing I've really found was Vienna Ensemble http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yRTTpJHSIw&feature=related but it's really expensive. So... if anyone knows anything, any help would be appreciated. |

Yes, Vienna is one of them, and quite good by all accounts.
Native Instruments does a strings package which is supposed to be good. East West Silver or Gold is used by many... wait for their sales. Project Sam does Orchestral Essentials, which I use and find more than adequate for my needs. Garritan Personal Orchestra is probably one of the more affordable packages that sound decent. Good Luck! |

If you want inexpensive, there's a free package called Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra. The strings need a little bit of high and low cut eq to tame some weird artifact, but once that's done they sound quite good. This is what it sounds like: http://soundcloud.com/nine-of-kings/soundtrack-track ---- 17 year-old "musician." https://soundcloud.com/nine-of-kings Free albums are cool. http://nineofkings.bandcamp.com |
