I don't know if you have experienced this but it's really frustrating...

I can't see the bottom part of the mixer where the channel names should appear, together with the mute/solo buttons...

To make it easier to understand I took two screenshots:

The weird thing is that this only happens in one project, the rest of my projects are fine and the mixer shows the whole view :(

There's an update due on Monday. Maybe that will fix it.

Thank you because I've tried literally everything...

Now that you mentioned that, I went to the official Steinberg forums and they listed all the bug fixes of their upcoming patch/update. There are a few things regarding the mixer, so hopefully this will be one of them.

I wouldn't have thought of what you said, I always tend to blame myself before the company that built the software! haha

Post

I have had plenty of problems with the new mixer, so much so that I went back to using 6.5.
But no doubt Steinberg will iron out all the problems eventually. We'll see how it goes on Monday. :-)

The mute solo buttons are above the faders, I can see them on your screenshot

Post

Yes of course, but look at the awful mixer that I need to pull in order to see those buttons... if I don't hide the rack and pull the channels upwards, I can't see the buttons, and when I do, the mixer looks like s*** ... plus I still can't see the channel names so I have no idea which knob I'm changing O_o

The missing channel names is odd and you also miss the R and W automation buttons. I tried to recreate your screenshot but can't! It must be a bug - which is no help I am sorry :)

Do you have two monitors that aren't the same size?

There is a bug that is supposedly being fixed in the update. In fact there are lot of mixer bug fixes listed for the update. If you have Cubase, why aren't you looking on their forum? I mean they list known bugs, release dates for patches etc...
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Post

Yeah it must be a bug, there's no other explanation.

Well, if I asked here it's because in the steinberg forums nobody replied.
But you are right, I'll keep an eye on the announcements made there.

This happened to me as well. I lost the scroll bar under the mixer view in one (and only one) project. Steinberg are aware of this.

You didn't need to ask ... there are 40003401234809578327498728374322 threads about it and a bug list that says it.

I head over to Steinberg if I want to watch the tumbleweed pass by. ;-)
Steinberg have stepped up their support of late, it used to be worse but KVR will always be faster. If you ask her though you run the risk of being indirectly accused of piracy. But hey it's not Steinberg's fault their new forum looks like shit, oh wait it is. :-D

Man, do I agree with that. The layout is the dumbest possible way to organize it. Oh well, it is what it is.

The real question is ... will the Cubase 7 demo beat BitWig Studio to market?

I often wonder - specifically - why some companies wait so long aftr a major update to release demos, what the internal reasoning behind all that is. You'd think they'd want to get it into as many "potentially interested" people's hands as possible, as soon as possible... before they go buy something else.

I don't get it.

Hi!

I found a way to get rid of this annoying problem, but I guess it's not a permanent solution:P
Just press the button with 3 squares in the top left corner of the mixer and deselect everything, then select what you want again...worked for me, so let's hope it works for everyone else as well. (Cubase 7.0.2)
