My Komplete U version is 9, since then they've cranked it up as far as effects and plugins suited for experimental music but I had a brief look at the Falcon granular, fairly flexible. I was just wondering to what depth can that synth go? Some say it goes beyond Omni but how much? What are the effects like? Can I go insane with this one?

I asked NI if they're having their sale this year but they haven't responded. I know K11 is gonna get me there but I dont wanna buy Falcon for more presets, Ive got too many as it is. Trying to create experimental music. Can Falcon get me there?

What is future bass?

If it is a subgenre or EDM, then all you need is to learn Spire and Massive better.

EDIT. Listened to some examples from the web. Yes, if you have Komplete 9 and Spire, you have all the tools to make this music. If you upgrade Komplete you will have Rounds and Kontour, which are very fine synths, I guess you may find use for them, and Form which you can use to mangle vocal samples in the way similar to what I've heard in some tracks.

What it is about future bass (now a 10yr-old genre) that can't be done in Absynth 5 (maybe Massive for the detuned basses)?

Falcon has an amazing synth engine, capable of almost all the synthesis methods available. Yes, it goes WAY beyond Omnisphere in terms of capability (not presets). The effects included are top notch, among the best in any VI, and rivalling the stand alone VSTs. So, if you are looking for a really creative instrument, you can't go wrong with Falcon.

I bought Falcon for electronica, dubstep, and I don't have time to use it. I did use "rounds" on one production. To me- Falcon is hard to use. But if you have time- have it all. I would also recommend Traction BioTek. It is on sale today at $35% off ($105). Great for woobles and experimental.

All the future bass I hear is like other genres. Some EDM, some complextro with pop vocals, some trap or dubstep.

If you have made any of this before, maybe the upgrade is not needed?

falcon is fantastik, the ircam time stretch and the granular engine are brillant, all combine with all the fx and osc, lfo, env... it s a daw in plugin format and more!

Future bass doesn't make use of advanced synthesis techniques that require special synths. I have a few future bass preset packs for both Massive and Serum. Cymatics makes some for Serum. ADRS / Echo Sound Works makes some for Serum and Massive (and are cheaper than Cymatics, to note).

Yeah but it's heavily processed. Ive got some of those presets and sample packs too but what I'm hearing when I listen to cashmere cat is extreme effects and layering techniques.
Ableton instrument rack is what i use for layering but I need more weirdness like delay pitch drifts and rhythmic type effects and resonators and shit.
