I just got a new computer and it has a dual-layer dvd drive, but is not reading the Trilian disks. I know it isn't the disks as they installed fine on my old machine not so long ago, so was wondering if anyone else experienced trouble mounting these disks and if you may have any tips. The vendor is sending me a new drive to try in case it is physically defective, but it does read other disks fine. I have no other dual-layer disks to try though.

If you still have the old computer around you could install over a network connection.

Thanks, how do I go about doing that? Both are wireless btw.

Well the is underway :-) thanks again for the suggestion. I am a little nervous that it wont complete properly, Trilian already takes so long to install let alone the added variable of doing it over a network. Fingers crossed! Wish me luck!

There is really nothing to worry about. It is not that much different than installing to an external drive. I have been able to make backup disks by running them in one computer and burning on another without a glitch. If there is a hiccup you might have to try it again, perhaps only the one disk. It should work out though.

Well it was working fine but it keeps choking on thr first library file on the first disk half-way through. I've tried 3 times, maybe the router is a little too far away or something, creating an unstable network? I dunno, but it isn't happening for me, Can i directly link the two and bypass the router altogether?

Ok, so now I set up an adhoc network so the computers can talk "brain to brain" I hope this works better, fingers crossed.
