I'm seriously considering getting a professional drum sampler, and this is the one that seems to be calling "pick me", but since I like to do lots of tricks and modifications to different parts of my drum tracks in different parts of my songs, I need a sort of "random access" to be able to put CC's on different parameters on different pads, maybe a modulation matrix, the ability to add filter or bitcrush envelopes to certain pads, modulatable start and loop points, etc.

Does anyone use this for (for lack of a better word) IDM or (*cringe*) experimental >_< beat making? What are the filters like in terms of tonality and the various types available?

At the moment I'm using Shortcircuit which has plenty of modulation options and a mod matrix for each sample, plus the "filters" also cover a variety of effects including audio-rate slew limiting, ringmod, overdrive, etc plus the usual cutoff filters. Am I right in thinking that Battery will be an improvement on this?

I am considering trying the demo, I'm just trying to avoid it if possible, because I mostly think this product is for me, but I want to find out about the mod/filter/FX depth and quality, which is something a quick demo probably won't tell the whole story of.
