Sending MIDI to V-Metal

I was interested in getting the V-Metal plug in but was concerned about the ability to change tunings and apply palm mutes, slides etc... to the tracks. I plan on importing MIDI guitar tracks made in a Power Tab or Guitar Pro type program and getting the tone through V-Metal. IS this a possible way to use the program and is there ability to manipulate the tracks I import as far as selecting when to mute or bend or let notes ring etc. I appreciate any feedback thank you.
