Well what do you know? I pulled out Spectrasonics' Stylus RMX and was playing around with it's powerful swing 'FUNction' and ended up with this track. Swing is really quite interesting. Waaaaaaay back in the day when I performed in a 'funk' band, we used to practice locking into the 'groove'. You know? We would practiced swing/feel for hours. Not too much and not too little-just the right amount to make the music groooooovey. It's sooooooo important that all the players be well aware of it. It really is one of the most important factors that gives funky music soul.

Aaaaaaaannnnnnyyyyyywwwwwwaaaay.

On this track I took it (swing) to an extreme. It took me quite a while to get things to fit. I think one really needs to acquire a taste for this sort of thing.

I'm totally open to comments, suggestions and critique.

Thanks for 'swingen' by the cafe'?

Oh! I almost forgot! The little boy in the picture is Jack my nephew when he was a little boy. He's so cute isn't he? This is the cover of a children's book that was published on borders called Jack Goes To the Beach....Life is a beach isn't it Jack?

I like this tune. I have tried to play with the swing feature on stylus, but have not figured out a good feel yet. I'm impressed with your results.

Cool David! Thanks for posting! Swing really is very, very interesting and powerful... and a bit mysterious...it takes good ears and a good sense of rhythm to fully grasp it...not that I have them...anyway...I'm listening to your funk jazz instrumental now on soundcloud...nice...

Wtf Chuck! That's too hot... only you could take that and make it so seamlessly groovy and bouncy. Very creative stuff! Cool

Nice track, Chuck. Nice late '90s-style groove that just bounds along. I really liked that rhythm-guitar sound and the keys are nice and chilled.

Good work Smile
