Below are our award categories for the 2013 KVR Audio Readers Choice Awards. Thanks for your input!

Christian Knufinke Software SIR1 - I bought only one more reverb and Nebula so far, but SIR1 is what showed me what I was missing more than any other thing up to that point. Luckily I had some very good free impulses (the Kurzweil ones from Echochamber/Noisevault) to start, and that was my first AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH moment. There's been more since, but this was the first biggee.

noticed the vastly response on this subforum?

just a few suggestions.

the word "best" in the audio software world is something that has a bad taste.
there are different aspects that can make a host or plugin good and usable,like stability,workflow features...
i can't see anything differentiated here.

if someone want to buy a car someone judge it by different features and so on.
however,you can open a car door jump in and drive away but this is not going to happen in the software world,unless you want to buy a specific software (which i not going to name here) to have it all and instantly produce famous songs with some clicks.

using audio software you probably have to learn many things about synthesis techniques and it is not that those techniques are widespread anyway.

and who are you laurabw?
some informations,background?
what is the purpose of this sub-forum?

"best" just tells me nothing.

would be nice to get some meaningful feedback.

They can be from any year. Just the best new plug-in must be released from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 as stated.

We did debate this a bit at KVR before we posted the categories. But since this is the "Readers Choice Awards" it's what each individual deems the best item is in each category. Hence we stuck with Best.

As far as who I am, I've been working with KVR Audio for almost 5 years on newsletters, promotions and other fun stuff and have been in the music and audio industry for over 30 years. seems like forever
