Spire: Problems and trouble shooting help

The issue is not connected with Spire itself. Problems like this are more specific to the installation of AU plugins.
Our instructions contain the point with the device restart:

To convert the preset to a new format, you can simply copy and paste the old preset to the User Library folder.
A copy of the preset will be created in sbf2 format (white color of the preset) and the rest of the actions will become available.

Hey, Just a question about this, I found that a couple of my old .SBF banks have illegal characters in their patchnames and spire either fails on import/convert or when I copy/paste them.

Since I can't edit the patch in the bank or do "save as" currently, these patches are semi-unavailable.
Is there a way around this?

edit: I should've specified that I'm on Windows 10.

I had a brainwave and installed a previous version (prior to 1.5) and used that version to rename the patches in the banks.

A bit time consuming, but at least I can convert the files.

Hey guys
finally got around to buying a licence. trying to install the demo. it crashes all my daw when trying to open.
Reaper
mulab
Machine

i have removed previous demos. Restarted my machine. re downloaded the installer. Same result.

Win 7 all updates
Reapwer 6.40

What do you mean with "Trying to install the demo"? There is no demo. One installer for all, and, it acts as a demo, until you activate it via the built in menu.

Did you download the latest version of Spire? What happened before you purchased the license? Did you demo it before, and did it work before?

You can also try to remove the settings files, which are located in AppData/Roaming/Reveal Sound

I had 1.1.3 version installed.
I removed all associated files and installed 1.5.10. The installation went fine. it shows up in all Daws vet list but when inserted on a track it crashes the Daws. I have repeated this process several times including redownloading and restarting after each install. If I remove 1.5.10 using it's installer and restore the older versions files and folders from the recycle bin, the older version works fine.

Did you have any luck removing the plugin settings, as I described above?

Try the following procedure: Completely uninstall/remove Spire, delete the files in AppData/Roaming/Reveal Sound (or just remove the Reveal Sound folder), and then install the latest version.

Removing the Reveal Sound folder in appdata did not solve the issue. Something's to note.
Using the installer to remove the application does not remove the appdata folder.
The appdata folder is created when you initiate the plugin.

I was able to install and open 1.5.10 on my win 10 machine.....oddly enough along side 1.1.3 both work fine.

I wonder if it is a graphics issue with win 7 and my hardware.

Yep, that's the expected behavior. When you uninstall the plugin, and install it again at some later point, you don't lose your settings, license activation, or information about installed soundbanks.

Same issue here on Windows 10 PC and Cubase, The plugin works without the user libary, but when it scans the user libary a big CPU spike kills the laptop and DAW : (

So they have technically Brocken the Spire VST plugin Syth with poor programming and a presumption that we all have loads of CPU and no thought for backward compatibility so the software development needs to be more rigourous and on par with the other providers out there as Spire generally uses too much CPU let alone what happens after thier poor updates. I am left with tracks I cannot complete for release as I used spire and now spire does not work with the presets, Not what you would expect after paying so much to them ??????????????????????????????????????????? Well done Reveal Sound you have Brocken Spire : ( and all the tracks I made with it. They are so not on par with other developers.
