Hold on to your socks.... it's NAMM time on the horizon. And word on the street is: TR-08 and TB-03
Countdown timer {just under 5 hrs to go as of this edit} and product announcement page here:
http://www.rolandconnect.com/
Looks like a Russian on-line retailer let the cat out of the bag, but the evidence has been taken down.
However, they've still left the page titles Screencaps incoming
TR-08 - http://promidi.ru/shop/UID_2044.html
TB-03 - http://promidi.ru/shop/UID_2043.html

On gearslutz they reckon it's 909 and 303 digital remakes, not 808

A digital 303?
I can see the look on the acid purists' faces
Look guys, a 303! Digital oscillators! Digital filters! Digital envelope! PROBLEM?
*cue trolololol music*
In fact, I think it'd wind them up so much, I almost want it to be true

Breakmixer, I'm not saying a TR-09 isn't on the cards too... just I haven't seen any clues about it. I missed the page while it was up, but even though they've taken the page down they forgot to erase the page titles - it seems ?

lol, my mate is a 303 artist, I know what you mean! He will shake his head in disgust at a digital 303,Sendy wrote:A digital 303?

Mind you, I think the drum side could be done digital, look at the Novation DrumStation, very close but no cigar - but I think a digital 909 would be quite easy to achieve and sound good if done well in digital!

Not only that, but what a waste of possibilites would it be to make a digital version of such a limited synth, when you can have all sorts of stuff present in nowdays VA's. Really hard to believe that they would come out with something like this, i just can't imagine it, unless they make it available for 99€ or so.Sendy wrote:A digital 303?

Don't mean to talk down the 303 btw, each to its like, but i doubt a digital remake would satisfy anyone, neither the acid guys, nor the digital synth friends.

Errr... I didn't say that! Miss-quote.DrGonzo wrote:According to that logic, Roland would now be on top of the synthesizer/keyboard market and it would be very successful. Why am I then getting the impression that Korg is far more successful with its synthesizers than Roland? Or maybe you are one of those who are expecting Bye Bye Miss American Pie played with an MS20?risome wrote:faun2500 wrote:Actually like any large company Roland are pretty good at market research, and what they have found is visible right there in the product: nerds aren't the customers. The buyers are the one man bands that play Bye Bye Miss American Pie at your local.

Majority of today's EDM producers have no idea what a real 303 is, so Roland might get it over and done with to flood the market with digital clones that sound nothing alike but is "good enough" to make any hipster feel old school.

Are the FA-06 and FA-08 already out?.. guessing that they are cut down Fantom workstations? 61 and 88 keys respectively from the names.. only a guess from the titles of the promidi pages -- if you change up the item numbers you can find them, but their pages don't load any data.
