Great idea! :tu:

The Diva manual isn't overly clear about the log file:
Diva User Guide p.38 wrote:You could also help us improve Diva by sending a log file.
To set this up, create a new text file and save it immediately as Diva to your desktop.
Rename the file to Diva.log. Once the problem occurs, quit your host app and send
a copy of Diva.log to support@u-he.com together with a short explanation
I read it as;
* Create a text file named Diva (Diva.txt)
* Rename the file to Diva.log (Diva.log.txt)

Strange thing to rename a file (2 steps instead of 1 ) but...
I thought nothing of it given your naming convention elsewhere
(eg. com.u-he.Diva.user.txt in the Support folder).

Can't confirm on OSX, Win8, Win7. All sorted 0-9 A-Z as expected.
Wow..very strange, it's always been out of order here as far as I can recall. But..this inspired me to experiment a bit further. I moved out all the presets and initialized Zebra with no presets, and then I move everything back and initialized Zebra again. That actually made the sorting correct in 2.7. I had partial success with 2.6 as well, but not for the nested folders. All main folders are correct now, but the subfolders are reversed as in Z to A.

Anyhow, it's way better than it was, and I'll keep trying... :-)
Nope..it seems there are several problems here.

1- Tested rev 2150 by moving a folder named 'Keep' out of Zebra's folder structure to see what happens when I re-introduce this folder, and then restarting Zebra. It ended up in the bottom below my Zebra HZ presets which I've copied to Zebra's preset folder.
Obviously 'Keep' should be sorted before 'Zebra HZ' and the "move everything out, restart - move back, and restart again" trick isn't good. It would be very awkward anyway to do this on a regular basis just to get a partially working sorting.

2- Here's a new bug in version 2.7 (2.6 does not suffer from this issue). Creating new folders within Zebra is "risky" in the 2.7 revisions, both Zebra and ZebraHZ. First a screenshot showing a corrupted folder structure, and a corrupted preset structure as well. Newly saved presets does not get sorted alpabetically, just as the issue with the broken folder structure.

Now, I'm selecting the 'Keep' Folder to create a new subfolder that I'll name 'B-Test' to see if it still ends up in the bottom of the parent folder's list . It didn't end up under the 'Keep' folder at all. Confusing for sure, but the explanation is this:
When I click the naming dialog to type the new name I select the folder beneath the dialog instead. IOW, the click gets rigth through to the main GUI instead of the dialog.
It can be avoided by clicking somewhere else BEFORE clicking the dialog, writing without touching the save dialog, or re-clicking the correct folder once more after writing/before pressing OK.

Question: is there any place where I can download the latest 2.6 revision?
I have revision 1559 and I'd really like to check out the latest build and see how that one works here. :-) According to the changelog there should be a 1560 revision, but I can only find download links for the 2.7 versions.

I'd only need the Zebra2.dll (VST2) in case somebody could help me out... :-)

Cheers,
Tobben

Hi all,

First post has a quick update fixing the infamous preset folder up/down key problem.

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=398871

Changes since 2150
  • fixed broken preset browsing with up/down keys on Win
  • fixed a few memory leaks
  • fixed potential crash in new memory management
  • fixed permissions issue in VST2 Mac directory (please test...)
  • improved Satin CPU when UI is open
As always, rev 2157 ZebraHZ install will be avilable for download in our user area shortly.

Yep, I'm pretty sure about that.

The boys left u-he HQs for two weeks (one left for another job), and while I'll have a dev machine around, I'll be jetlagging my head off from Monday. I doubt - and hope not - that anything serious enough will happen to disturb our hibernation until January. And also, we need a few days off :clown:

i hope the one who left for another job is coming back :-)...
Well deserved time off, wasn't criticizing, just seeking clarity....
Enjoy your time off and 2014 will be great. Thanks for everything.

We've got bets running :hihi:

In all seriousness, Clemens has contributed a lot, e.g. the Diva VCO and VCF tech, the build system that this thread is based on and whole lot of other things. But it's time for him to move on and do some "real" computer science. He can always come back, but I think it's good that he tries something else.

Hehehe, wasn't taken as such! :)

Yep & Thank you too!

Definitely..... will do thanks.
No not Clemens!!!!!
this is real computer science Clemens :-)
All seriousness good luck in any new venture, but I do hope by March you are back :-)

No sync button on ZebraCM (rev 2157) in Reaper x64/Win8 here...

GUI bug - osc/MSEG save screen bleeds mouseclicks through - left click at specific places actually shows dropdown menus from the module grid...

This does not happen with the main Save screen.

Also, perhaps the wording on the preset save screen could be slightly edited:

"Preset Name"

"Author"

"Description - What is it? What does it sound like?"

"Usage - How to use and play it. What does MIDI do?"

Notice that "do?" is not visible at all because of "and/or" being used. So either the save window should be wider, or things need to be reworded.

Also, does it have any sense to have "what does it sound like" in osc and MSEG save dialogs? :D Perhaps it would be better to just say "Description" and "Usage", without additional explanations.

Hmmm… can you verify that you have these two graphics:

../ZebraCM.data/Data/Images/Animations/Sync/ZCMSyncButton0.png
../ZebraCM.data/Data/Images/Animations/Sync/ZCMSyncButton1.png

Also, does clicking right above the unlabelled knob in teh Oscs turn Sync on and off?
