Is there any reason you called this A.I.D.S? Other than to get people to listen to it? I lost a lot of friends to AIDS.

this song isn't about safe sex (but if it inspired someone to practice safe sex that's a great first step for slowing and/or stopping aids and hiv transmission worldwide), its about how AIDS
came to America, and the different theories
that surround it, one of the theories being
it came here from the polio vaccines in Africa,
theory being when synthesizing the polio vaccine from minced chimp kidneys the SIV (Simian immunodeficiency virus) virus somehow might of mutated into
HIV, as most of the kidneys used from monkeys had SIV
this song talks about that theory to be more specific.
AIDS, and HIV, are acronyms. AIDS stands for acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Using the periods
between each of the letters I felt highlights the fact
that this isn't a benign acronym relic from the numerous 80's safe sex campaigns, and that just because they have more drugs to treat it; its still a pretty serious illness globally for people without access to those expensive anti retrovirals
