I thought I'd ask here before bothering tech support with it: Does anyone know how to get choking to work properly with a VST in Ableton drum racks?
I've been making a custom drum kit made from various Bazille drum patches I've created. It's all working well except that I can't get choking to work (closed hat stops the sound of the open hat). I set the choke channel to 1 for each sound but no dice. I can see that the open hat instance of Bazille receives midi when I trigger the closed hat, but the sound continues decaying regardless.
I have tried the same thing with Madrona Labs Kaivo and choking doesn't work with that either. Curiously it does work with the Ableton device, 'Analog'. I wonder if this is something to do with VSTs?

Seems like it'd be a VST-only thing, since choking is a bit different than a MIDI note-off?
There's probably some workflow with freezing and dropping clips into Sampler, but maybe that's more manageable than creative.
