I was in the market for 'theRiser' when I noticed upon clicking purchase that Mac or Windows showed up with individual pricing at $79.99 for each one. Do any music companies sell software by platform any more?? Imagine if Omnisphere (for example) was only available for purchase on PC or Mac, and if you wanted it on both you had to purchase TWO copies. Absurd!
Here was the official reply from inMusic Brands regarding theRiser on multi-platform:
Hello
The purchase of the Riser is for either Mac or PC, not both.
Best Regards,

So if you want both, you must BUY THE SOFTWARE TWICE??? Sorry, I just can't wrap my head around that software model.

I remember sbangs_air saying you get both but they have you choose when you check out to gauge what platform people are using. So send sbangs_air a PM and he should help you out.

I got the Korg MonoPoly VST, but unfortunately if I want the rack extension version I need to pay to get that: https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/korg-monopoly/

Yep, they give you two authorizations (i.e. two computers).
Wonder whether my advice worth a penny? Check my music at Soundcloud and decide for yourself.

No they dont. They used to give people a 20-30% discount if people only wanted the license for one single platform, but some of the people who'd got it cheap bitched about it being unfair that they'd have to pay 'extra' (ie the difference) to get additional platforms, so OhmForce stopped doing the discounted version.iDesignSound wrote:Ohmforce do this, very annoying

Ask for a refund and don't buy their stuff ever again as long as they keep proceeding that way. As mcnelson said: vote with your wallet. I also avoid those companies, just like companies with iLok/elicenser no matter how good their products are. I'd totally buy the Riser, but I can't encourage their ways of doing business. These companies seem to make enough money without me, they'll survive it.
I'm totally fine with Ohmboyz reducing the price for only one platform.

He doesn't need to ask for a refund, since, AFAIR, he didn't buy it. And if you had read the entire posts you sould have noticed by now it's a falsa alarm. You get licenses for bioth platforms, if you need. You have up to three authorizations, if I'm not mistaken, and any of them can be on any supported platform.TheKid wrote:Ask for a refund and don't buy their stuff ever again as long as they keep proceeding that way. But I agree that the answer he got is misleading, though. Incompetent service.

I guess they think like: We sell one license to one customer, who either has an Apple or a Windows computer. If we provide both, the customer might give the other license to someone else, i.e. we lose one potential customer.
