Overlapping sequence parts

I noticed a strange behaviour of overlapping sequence parts which I do not understand. To reproduce:
  • create a new session
  • draw a sequence part from bar 1 to bar 5
  • draw a second sequence part from bar 5 to bar 9
  • move the second part one bar to the left
  • try to drag the first part at it's right end => doesn't work.
The operation will always be applied to the second part. Am I doing something wrong?

I just tried it here and it worked as expected. The <-> cursor appears over the right edge of the left (earlier) part, click'n'drag to the right to extend it. The sequence looped within the part as expected, too.

Just to clarify "overlapping". If I draw a part from the start of bar 1 to the end of bar 5, I can't then draw a part on the same track from the start of bar 5 to the end of bar 9, so I'm assuming you meant two four bar parts (1 to end of 4, 5 to end of 8) that are adjacent rather than overlapping to start with? Or did you make them overlap some other way?

Are you highlighting the first part after you have moved the second ?

Oh and make sure you're left-click dragging, not right-click dragging -- right-click drag moves the timeline.

Just tried it and no it doesnt work as you would expect.

Thanks for your reply. What I did (variation):
  • create a new session
  • draw a sequence part with a length of 4 bars
  • draw a second sequence part with also a length of 4 bars, directly right from the first part
  • move the second part 3 bars to the left => now the two parts overlap for 3 bars
  • highlight the first (left) part (in the leftmost position)
  • try to drag the first part at it's right end (with left mouse click) => doesn't work.
The operation will always be applied to the second (right) part.

Ah yes -- the click to drag is not keeping the first part focussed for the operation where the parts overlap: it selects the second part instead and the drag then applies to that (at the nearest end).

This will be fixed in the next version.
