rideR is good for a couple of things:
1st of all it's a volume manipulator that lets you use midi controllers to control the volume of the signal - anything from fine-riding a vocal track with the mod wheel or with aftertouch (much more lively than using the mouse to "ride" a virtual fader), to chopping the audio on and off by hitting your keyboard (much faster than cutting audio regions in the edit window)
2nd - rideR provides a powerful tremolo effect, with various waveshapes, sync to bpm, stereo phase and the unique deform control, which can make all kinds of strange tremolo shapes.
3rd - you can control the depth of the tremolo and its speed with midi controllers, to make all kinds of strange effects - a tremolo with varying speed, a "sneaking in" tremolo, and more.
rideR comes intwo versions - the VSTi version is basically for logic audio users, and the VSTe version is for everyone else (i think).
16 presets and a html readme file will help you understand how to make the most of this plugin.
