Both actually... but since I use Geist a LOT more than Tremor, I would benefit a lot more from Geist getting a resizeable GUI.Angus_FX wrote:Geist, Tremor, or both of the above?

My favorite of the three is Cypher, simply because of the incredibly wide range of sounds it can morph between with a few minor tweaks. I'm really looking forward to what is in store for it.

Yes, agreed. I gravitated to Strobe at first because it is so easy to use it to create my most commonly used sounds. However, after fully learning Cypher, I actually got faster with it.bmrzycki wrote:My favorite of the three is Cypher, simply because of the incredibly wide range of sounds it can morph between with a few minor tweaks. Geist! There are a lot of good, great and fantastic synths out there but when it comes to sampling(!) samplers with a ton of fx and .. and ... a... there's not many options! I think Geist should come out in a hardware version!
Can you leak some info about that update..?
Right, back to synth squad 2 ^_^

+1, Geist need some love, the pain of bigger patterns with the step sequencer was painful and still painfulepiphaneia wrote:Both actually... but since I use Geist a LOT more than Tremor, I would benefit a lot more from Geist getting a resizeable GUI.Angus_FX wrote:Geist, Tremor, or both of the above?

Make shure a new Dcam Synth Squad support multy core because it was a very weak point and even if u have 12 core monster CPU it is no better then laptop CPU!
I see that new Dcam Synth Squade is more optimazed with CPU but still i think it wont be hard to max out a singel core with coplex patch! Aspesialy if u combain fwe synth in Fusor!

Are we looking at the same screen capture? Didn't look flat at all to me... though not overly skeuomorphic either. Actually, I thought it was a perfect balance. Quite nice. If FXpansion continues with UIs that look like this I'll actually have to cease making fun of them.basslinemaster wrote:Just for the record, I hate flat GUIs, and being 'modern' doesn't mean it's good.4damind wrote:
This looks and sounds amazing and I like this flat and modern looking GUI!
It's funny though how Apple kind of pioneered the skeuomorphic UI, then Microsoft copied it... until they had had enough and did Windows 8... which then Apple copied. Luckily Apple still uses a fair amount of visual depth cues in OSX. The truth is, this latest move to flat UIs is really just a fad. UIs can be good or bad and yeah, I've seen horrible UIs that really tried to emulate some sort of fantasy piece of real world gear... and just fail. OTOH, I look at a UI like Diva and I wonder why Urs decided that in a fairly skeuomorphic interface all of the sudden abandon that paradigm for the module select buttons. I don't care if a UI is flat or not as long as it establishes a visual language for things that makes sense and then stays consistent. Ableton gets this perfectly well. FXpansion plug ins like Geist are all over the place... "we're a hardware drum machine! ...oh but a digital one with a LCD screen... that you can use the same way you use the other elements." This results in a mess.

Here is why it is important to have multi core support in new Dcam Synth Squade.
And i will give u a good example how it is possible put ur computer to knees even with out complex patch. I always set polyphony on max, because obviously i will not use all 32 notes in the same time but this high polyphony lets properly decay previous notes with out cutting off. And if i set oversimpling for 8x for 48Khz it will be very dificult to run that on a singel core even on modern top of the line CPUs.
And obviously new CPUs goes more toward not bigger clocks but more cores.

I like the second one!himalaya wrote:and then some!Robmobius wrote:Strobe is already a monster!
But I like it a lot when it's doing simple duties like...emulating the Roland SH-101
strobe vs hardware Sh-101:

Since there's a way for the sub oscillator to bypass unison stacking, I think it would be cool for the sub to be able to bypass the filter. So many times I need a sine or triangle wave unfiltered, while the main body of the bass goes through a HPF or BPF. Anyway, I'm really excited about this!
