Hi there,
I am asking this because for some projects the ability to tune scales is essential.
Would be great to have the awesome sound of Spire to shine with the use of Scala harmonies.
Hope this feature makes through.
Cheers,
SL

Yes. I've asked for this before.
Microtuning is essential for a lot of people!
It was received well by Reveal-sound back then. They liked the idea but still have not implemented it.
Please implement microtuning in Spire in whatever way you like. Here are the possible ways of doing it:
- Scala file support. http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/
- .tun file support. http://www.mark-henning.de/files/Tuning_File_V2_Doc.pdf
- MTS (Midi Tuning Support) either realtime or nonrealtime. http://www.midi.org/techspecs/midituning.php
- Make some form of 12-tone tuning custom interface in Spire like several other VST synths do.
Any of these would be fine for most.
Though the realtime MTS is the best one for hardcore microtonalists (you'd score bigtime points and recognition with that one), Scala and .tun come second, 12-tone custom interface last.

Btw, the realtime MTS way of tuning allows users to use an external program to do the tuning and keyboard mapping etc for them.
They can use free programs such as Scala, H-Pi software, Lil Miss Scale Oven or Fractal Tune Smithy.
This would be by far the most amazing way to do it, realtime MTS support. This will make it the no1 synth in the western microtonal community and global music styles that do not follow western 12-tone equal temperament (India and Turkey / Middle east etc).

Greetings!
We are happy to inform you about Spire v1.1.2 release.
We have added microtuning support: Now Spire can be tuned in different temperaments using Scala tuning files.
Also Spire can be tuned to A=432 Hz, known as Verdi’s ‘A’ / Pythagorean Tuning. Available frequencies: from 432 Hz to 446 Hz
