I'm getting a midi data error when turning on a casio cz5000, has anyone ever encountered this problem or resolved? This happens when either a midi cable is connected or not. The thing has hardly been used, I'm thinking it could be a battery issue? Also the buttons seem to be registering but no sound and the error message is stuck on the lcd.

Is the error listed in the manual? If so ...
If not, have you tried to FACTORY RESET the unit? That information should also be in the manual.
Otherwise, I don't know. Perhaps there is a dedicated User Group on the Internet.
