Special, because I wouldn't directly use them to make sound alone
They are either meant as modulation sources or in the case of PM Sine as a modulation source and/or to be modulated at audio rate by another oscillator. The PM Sine table is just a sine wave with different phases. Therefore, modulating WT position in the mod matrix will effectively give you phase modulation! Stick this in osc1 and osc2 with osc3 as a sine wave you can get the same configuration as the native FM oscillators. So what? Well, you can go much further than the native FM. For instance, replace osc2 with another wavetable.
The other 2 wavetables are purely for waveshaping. The wavelets one does a fairly interesting fake resonance effect when swept.
I'll try to upload some patches later that showcase the use of these wavetables.

Edit: make sure the modulation rate is set to audio rate in the settings tab!

By extension, you can use the PM Sine as mod destination to do phase distortion. I have some 'special' wavetables to do that, but they need sorting first.

Mark, I hope you will respond to this thread because it's something I just thought about.

Interesting, good to see more people explore Dune2 possibilities

Thanks a LOT Mark,
another great share, i really like your "additive/Voice#" WT post in the synapse forum, the filter sweep can be so enormous
just one question, how can we do PD without hardsync between WT ?
i go to try immediatly your new tables.

Just make sure to reset phase or set phase in the mod matrix for each oscillator. You'll get a decent PD type sound using osc2 in VA mode (play with the sync as well ). Set osc2 to modulate osc1 WT position. Set an envelope in the mod matrix to modulate amount of osc2 modulation of osc1 for movement. Use PM Sine WT for osc1.kokotte wrote:Thanks a LOT Mark,

When doing 'PD' you might need to pull the filter down a bit, since there are some buzzy artefacts at certain settings.

You know, sometimes I can be a total idiot.
The more I am diving into this synth, the more I am loving it. In fact, I can easily say that it's in my top 5 soft synths of all time.
And to think, I thought it was just another EDM machine.

I am so, so glad that you've realized this wagtunes. Nothing can be more humbling. And yes, Dune 2 is a great synth.wagtunes wrote:You know, sometimes I can be a total idiot.

Amen for that. When I recommended this synth in that thread, I was sure that you would end loving it wagtunes. It absolutely fits the requirements you made, and it's really awesome by itself. It's unique with its unison system, and it has lots of modulation options!. It's easily my favorite bread-and-butter, go-to kind of synth.

I can't wait to release a demo of what I've done so far but I have to be patient. I know the best is yet to come.Yorrrrrr wrote:Amen for that. I'm pretty sure about that. You can make this synth sound beautiful. Can't wait to hear the demos.
As for the wavetables, thanks Mark. Really useful and opens up new possibilities for the synth.
