Are you the guy that does all those cool templates for Kore?aMUSEd wrote:Awesome - sold!
Because I would love it if you've done one for Dune 2.

Hi yes, I bought Dune 2 recently so it's not complete, I have done almost all the synth parts (except LFOs) but was trying to decide whether it makes sense to map the fx too (other than fx on/off which is mapped) - it would add a lot of user pages if I did and could get complicated due to the bus structure. Here is the preliminary version:

might be some other features missing, let me know. I'm still getting my head around it (mapping actually helps me to get to know a synth structurally).

Wicked. Thanks. I'll check it out.aMUSEd wrote:Hi yes, I bought Dune 2 recently so it's not complete, I have done almost all the synth parts (except LFOs) but was trying to decide whether it makes sense to map the fx too (other than fx on/off which is mapped) - it would add a lot of user pages if I did and could get complicated due to the bus structure. Kore is so deep. I find it disappointing that NI discontinued it in order to pursue, what to me, is an inferior product.
It's definitely worth keeping an older computer on the go just to run that and a few other choice items.

Yes, and it's nice that some plugins, like most of the Linplug and COFX ones, still play really nicely with it, even with full patch import.
Any thoughts on doing a Blue 2 bank?

OK I have done the LFOs now, I think the first synth part is complete. I don't think I will do the FX, they would add too many user pages for this to be practical, and I can't do the MSEGs as they really need a mouse.
Now I *just* need to repeat the whole thing for the other 7 synth layers

Rob gave me the whole Explorer III package a few months back and all his synths and effects get used a lot. I have plans to do a Blue bank, but it's likely that I will do banks for Serum, Hive, Massive, and Rounds (in that order) beforehand, I'm also writing patches for Wusikstation W8, while working on some sample libraries and my own productions. There's also a Morphox bank that I wrote a few months ago that I have yet to put out. I'm not sure there's much demand for presets for that particular synth. Although since I've written it. I might as well put it out right? I'd like to do a Blue bank though and likely will.aMUSEd wrote: Any thoughts on doing a Blue 2 bank?
If you own Predator perhaps you might be interested in this http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 7&t=437404 , which is a set I did for Predator featuring 658 presets of all kinds. I even surprised myself with what I was able to get out of that synth.

Pity Blue 2 seems to be neglected in terms of third party content. I don't have Predator unfortunately.

Well, I will get around to it in the future. When that will happen is of course a function of how long it takes me to write for the other synths and how long the other projects take me. Hive is super easy to program, I've written 56 patches for that in 3 sittings of roughly 2 and a half hours each.Rounds is again pretty easy. Serum and Massive are more difficult, not because of some arcane architecture or synthesis method, but because they have a particular sound. It's very easy to create a bank full of Serum or Massive patches that sound the same as everybody else. Doing something a bit different has so far, for me, been quite difficult. Also, Blue 2 is another synth, that like Dune, takes a bit more time to dig into and get a feel for so I'd want to take my time on that one. So realistically, it would probably be a couple of months minimum, given the other commitments I have as well. But I will be programming sounds for Blue 2, not least because I want to create some presets for myself on that platform.
