Glad to present my new album... wild trumpets gliding through deep atmospheres...

Morgen Wurde "Letzten Endes"
Formats: CD, Download
Style: Space, Doom, Jazz, Electronic
Label: Off (Brussels)
Release: 25 September 2015

The majestic and threatening ambiguity of the forces of nature... set to dark romantic space/doom/jazz music.
Music about ultimateness... with a sense of cinematic grandeur, elegiac sadness, and high drama.

Today is the day... the release day :)
Now also available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc.

Fun fact: The album already has a famous listener: Alan Parsons, the engineer of the second most successful album in history: Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" (only Michael Jackson's "Thrilller" sold more copies)...
He was also involved in the production of two Beatles albums, and is also known for his Alan Parsons Project of course.

How did that come about? A friend of mine was addressed at a bar by a lady - after talking for a while she (that woman) invited her to the concert of her husband on the next evening... so it turned out it was the wife of Alan Parsons.
She (the friend) then conceived the plan to visit the bar again after the concert to maybe say goodbye to Mrs. Parsons, this time maybe in company of his husband. For that case, she planned to give him a copy of my album.
She then had a merry time there with Alan's family and the band ;)
Mr. Parsons showed delighted interest in the album, he wanted to know more about it and promised to listen to it :)

Some praise to the involved trumpeters:

Tetsuroh Konishi from Saitama, Japan, cultivates an anthemic lyricism, he developed a strong reputation for his music composition and performance in Japan and beyond, collaborating in the art scene across multiple genres including writing, production, and education.

Australian born trumpeter Toby Mak was mentored throughout his highschool years by Motown legend Gil Askey, today he is an in-demand sideman and jazz soloist, currently living in Shanghai.

Frank Wilke represents a more free jazz approach, he is a classically trained tenor saxophonist who expanded his skills to the trumpet and other wind instruments, bustling in diverse ensembles in the German Ruhr district and worldwide collaborations.

All of the three also being active in electronic music, they were a perfect match for this project. :phones:

The remixers deserve some special praise:

First is Cogi from Manchester, he runs the netlabel Broken Bubble which could qualify as a branch of the history-charged label Ninja Tune, having dished up 34 releases since 2011. "difficult-to-classify sounds like post-dubstep, future garage, dubfunk, ..."
http://brokenbubble.bandcamp.com

His sampledelica/breaks style is playfully psychedelic, on this remix it's more mystic trip hop. Not only did he manage to find a distinct groove mode for the beatless original and a deviating atmosphere like the other remixers, but he even pulled off the feat to coherently combine the trumpets from both original versions of this track:

Liked the second audio post;
Morgen Wurde - Letzten Endes [Album CD Remixes Snippets]
Had me thinking Kenny Wheeler, Euro-avant-gart Terje Rypdal w/trumpet and a little Jon Hassel. I`ll give it a listen over at BC.

Oh, annode, thanks :)

My main influences in trumpet music are Nils Petter Molvaer, Toshinori Kondo, Arve Henriksen and Ben Neill.
As for Kenny Wheeler, I'm not familiar with his oeuvre yet - if you could point me to some of his atmospheric work, I'd be grateful :)
I'm into some of Terje Rypdal's stuff on ECM (that "Vossabrygg" album and the two "The Sea" albums with Ketil Bjørnstad et al.), also some Jon Hassell tracks like the gorgeous "Last Night the Moon came": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7IRnin9gF0

Kenny Wheeler is a jazz flugelhorn player.
Love this record;

Album: Gnu High (1975)
Kenny Wheeler - flugelhorn
Keith Jarrett - piano
Dave Holland - bass
Jack DeJohnette - drums

Thanks, annode!
Well, I guess Kenny Wheeler is too feel-good / not existentialist enough for me ;)

The next remixer to introduce is Nightkites from Brighton... who deepens the cinematic qualities of enigmatic Burial-esque realms, dark future garage. Fallen angels sing their songs in abandoned ruins. :borg:
His recent album: https://nightkites.bandcamp.com
Give the sublime "Drones" (#4) a listen...

For my album, he concocted this divine anthemic remix:

Today it's about remixer Firnwald.

Firnwald brews wondrous flows of freestyle in the heights of the German Allgäu: "weird beats, hypermodern soundscapes, blackmetal jazz, dark funk, strange drone songs" as he tries to name the unclassifiable.
The last 10 years have seen a plethora of Firnwald albums and EPs (mostly under Creative Commons licence) - some to be found at http://firnwald.bandcamp.com/music

His netlabel Laridae takes his muse even further - check out the surprise bag of all these free releases of highly imaginative producers: www.laridae.at/releases.php

His arcane trip-hopish remix on my album smiles a secret smile:

Two more remixers to introduce...

encym from London is very prolific, creating bizarre dubby acousmatic soundscapes with guitar and transforming electronics. "Cliff Martinez meets Boards of Canada", as he puts it. (C.Martinez = score for Traffic, Solaris, Arbitrage, ...)

His IDM'ish remix propels with a wonky frantic groove:

Morgen Wurde - Schreitet fort (encym Remix)

...an astounding abstraction of the original - here for comparison:

Finally - Jan Nemeček closes the album with this truly epic psychedelic trip:

Jan from Belgrade is one of Serbia's finest electronic musicians.
I highly recommend this (free) compilation of some of his remixes:

Glad to have an interview in the (very good) music magazine "A Closer Listen":

There I also present a mix with my favourite atmospheric electro/acoustic music including wind instruments.
