I am attempting to translate ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM, a VISUAL artistic  

genre originating in New York City in the 1940s, to electronic music. This is in

contradistinction to EXPRESSIONIST MUSIC composed by members of the

Second Viennese School, exemplified by the music of Schoenberg, Webern,

and Berg. This movement began as romantic abstract expression, but

degenerated into "Serial Technique", essentially atonal mathematics.

Electronic music technology of the 21st century allows us to create sonic

abstractions outside of Western musical practices and traditions. The

"meaning" of the abstractions is derived equally (jointly) from the creator-

composer's intent and the "personal mythology" of the listeners.
