Sometimes it is inspiring to hear how pros take advantage of gear.

I know Jean Michel Jarre's Evolution was made with Roland D50 and that Kylie Minogue's Can't get you outta my head was programmed on a Korg Triton.

I would love to know about more, so plz fill me in if you have examples. Hardware as well as software. The song or album doesn't have to be made with one synth (or groovebox) only but could imply a dominating synth among other.

Blade Runner OST, for example Main Titles, features the CS-80 extensively, played by Vangelis.
First example that pops to my mind.

The Prodigy - Fat Of The Land : Liam used a lot his Korg Prophecy.

Yazoo - Upstairs at Eric's : mostly SCI Pro One, but the lead in "Don't Go" is done with an ARP 2600

Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are made Of This) : Roland Juno 60 + SH-09

Moderat - II : lots of NI Razor.

It doesn't say which albums or songs the artists mainly used the synth(s). Who used it is a different question.

In the first albums from Duran Duran, basically all synth sounds were played in the Jupiter-8.

The synth intro in Kim Carnes Bette Davies Eyes is made with the Prophet-5

And if I enter my top faves (Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, etc.) I could be here all day.

OH, and BTW, the name is Jean Michel (not Michelle)
Fernando (FMR)

BTW: Do someone know which synth was used for the main lead of "Gangnam Style"? Sounds like a VA of some sort but can't find anything about it.

An educated guess would be: any album released shortly after the synth was put on the market ;-)

But imho synths are just instruments and artists will use whatever is available to create sound. If specific synth X were not available to them, would that have a substantial influence on what they produce? For instance: what if Peter Gabriel did not have a Fairlight but a Synclavier...

Just looked up this specific example, tons of info on specific albums it was used on is listed on Wikipedia:

I was under the impression that you're a serious man...

Autechre - Cichlisuite ep - said to be done almost entirely with a Nord Lead. Listening to it, it does have that lovely thick, slightly gritty sound of the Nord Lead 1.
