Yes, Bong is great. I miss it ever since I've moved to the Mac platform. I really enjoyed making sounds for it.Halma wrote:xoxos Bong. Best Bang for the buck.
Have not used anything else since it has been released. Plus his percussion synths as well. And Starcym of course.
And I have not heard anything else that convinced me to ditch Bong and I tried most Drumsynths at some time.
Common, everyday arguing about drum machines and everything that could be considered as a DM.

Why no use PC? By supporting apple you support whale slaughtering!himalaya wrote:Yes, Bong is great. I miss it ever since I've moved to the Mac platform. I really enjoyed making sounds for it.

Of course. But I compensate for this by having created a whale sanctuary with over 1000 whales rescued. We all gather at sunrise and I listen to whale songs while having 2 apples for breakfast.

A drum machine is the type with build-in sequencer, right? Not mere drum modules or drum synths?
It seems that more and more DAW's come with their own built-in step sequencers these days, so I don't need a drum machine.

You nearly had me there, but 2 apples? No wayhimalaya wrote:Of course. But I compensate for this by having created a whale sanctuary with over 1000 whales rescued. We all gather at sunrise and I listen to whale songs while having 2 apples for breakfast.

I know! Unbelievable stuff but so true. That's nothing though. Once I finish with one apple I spit the seeds up in the air and the whales jump out of the water and as they do a somersault, they try to bounce the seeds off their beaks. These whales...crazy animals. That's how xoxos got the name for Bong. The whale hits the apple seed and you hear a massive bong.

Drum machines? Mainly I use Spark 2 but sometimes also Transfuser and Drum Machines in Bitwig

Chamomile tea, dude. Chamomile tea. Potent stuff.
However, thanks to this thread I remembered about Drumspillage. I remember wanting to spend some time with it. But just now I noticed that Elektroid. Has anyone used this yet? It's completely gone under my radar....

I'm starting to believe that there's really a bong involved, but no apples or seeds. And everything may sound like whalesinging

Yep, I have both. Elecktroid is useful if you want to use samples. And the sequencer is amazing, a bit like Tremor's, very good. Poly rhythms, per step modulation of parameters, probability. A joy to use imho.himalaya wrote:Chamomile tea, dude. Chamomile tea. Potent stuff.

But for pure synthesis DS is far more advanced with more different models and such. I use it all the time.

Drumspillage by far has my favorite sound engine. It's very hard to make it sound bad. At the very least it always sounds interesting.himalaya wrote:Thanks, that Elektroid drumthingamabob sounds very intriguing. I think both do.
