xphenom - the rack is a more targeted at matching EQ curves specifically, if you have two distorted guitars, or two different acoustic guitars and you want them to be more similar you can use Rack to shortcut the eq work.

I've been messing with these, and I find the ACT Rack to be more useful than the ACT Combo. It takes a while to really dial in tones because you have so many more options now, but the fact that you have those options is worth so much more than the asking price. I've been putting a lot of work into a high-gain setup the last few days. Everything will take your own adjusting on the input output level at least (I left both settings default when profiling and making presets) but feel free to try out what I have come up with so far. The results speak for themselves IMO. I left as much of the highs in as I could to give it cut, feel free to back off on that If it overwhelms your setup. https://peavey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=43771

If anyone is too impatient to do everything at once, just head to the last post and pick up the "Diablo" preset. I can't figure why they are selling this so cheap, or if the way I'm profiling things is known, because it's not mentioned(I just figured it out).

A quick update. It still needs a bit eq'ing in the preset to be perfect, but these are palm mutes folks( I start with posting basic presets and then follow-ups of my own personal EQ taste..that way people can back-track instead of figuring out what I did. You just have to decide how you want to finish shaping the sound from this point, as I'm going to be busy today//the fact that Revalver now has more sound content to work with than other amp sims(sonically, not in terms of amp choices)is going to lead to legendary one-of-a-kind sounds) :) enjoy

I lied, I found time to work on it. (I forgot to check my 1.1:1 compressor so there is a slight click now and again) :)

Improved versions are now up :) lol..I'm sorry but I just did a comparison to other software/hardware and OMG :)
*Turn on the 4 ACT Racks or it won't sound right. Will you please fix this Peavey. We want the Racks to switch on when you load a preset..by god who's idea was that?

last one for now. I'm interested to hear other people's work with Revalver also :)

there's a little push from the compressor because I didn't bother to adjust it..it's just a demo, but the push isn't there in reality..you'll hear it kick out :dog:

Hmm.

Can't say I like those sounds compared to what I'm getting with, say, Thermionik or S-Gear 2... Say, this Mesa/Boogie tone for my 7-string, I find it kicking so much ass... It's punchy, sharp and defined.

Your examples sound severely overgained to me, flubby and kinda flat :/ Sorry!

..you can get anything you want..I love dirty sounds :) Ps..the bass knob is on the amp , turn it counter-clockwise..wow..unbelievable how lazy people are these days..no offense

Post

It's not a matter of laziness, I just commented on the audio snippets. :D

Wether you realize it or not, we are all listening through different speakers, of course you have to adjust things with presets..get on with it, it blows the hell out of kazrog..hands down. It can do anything you want

Post

Well I'm not convinced, sorry. :)

Dude, you're too lazy to even try, and you're speaking to someone who has both Kazrog and Revalver to compare head to head and I'm sorry to tell you there are more dynamics in that patch I just created(that you feel when you play)that 3X what kazrog has to offer. And as far as sound, you have to match it to your setup, as far as distortion, you have to match it to your setup. There are only a hundred knobs in my setup to tweak. How many do you have in Karog? I'm telling you as a person who has them both, you're missing out. Convince yourself. But I have to tell you that I've profiled everything about my presets myself, so If you find time out of your busy schedule you can do it all yourself, or you can test the last preset on the top post that I've done and just adjust it to your taste. No offense, but KVR really sucks because half the people here think nothing takes work...they just want more sucky freebies to throw on their synth.

Post

Here: last preset, first post..all you should have to do is turn the bass and maybe the treble down in your case and you can turn back the distortion if you want...you have to switch the ACT Racks on individually..You can go inside every piece of equipment and tweak it...it should only take you maybe a few months to even find everything that's going on..have fun: https://peavey.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... 3&p=307511

And through my speakers, your sound is lifeless, dull, and sounds like *hit. So what's your point. My speakers can handle more high end than yours? because that's all I'm getting out of it.*check that, I'll be specific. My speakers represent high-end better than yours(it's takes less) but can handle Bass much better than yours without bottoming out..so adjust it.

Dude, seriously, you should watch your mouth. EvilDragon is a very respected forum member and really has some knowledge and experience. If someone like him criticises your sounds, you really should consider if he could be right. And IMHO he is.

I am not an expert and/or professional and would never claim to be. But I have learned a lot on this forum.

You on the other hand seem to think of yourself as an expert who can tell others how it's done. Sadly, judging from your posts and samples... you are clearly not.
