what... too cheap? too much?
On eBay there's a japanese one going for just below $10.000 I think.
Market prices are whatever a fool is prepared to give for it...

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
I've seen loads advertised for $10k.

I think advertising and actually selling at that price is not the same thingMushy Mushy wrote:I've seen loads advertised for $10k.

The last car i bought new cost only thousand more. It's really beyond me how you can shell out that amount for a fairly limited instrument... but, hey, fair enough if it is worth that for you, it would never be for me.

I think it is a case of buying as a storage investment (Jup-8) and actually buying to use as a synth (JX-8P)chk071 wrote:Supply and demand, i guess.

+1 The Hipster factor, probably puts $5000 on top of what it should have sold for.chk071 wrote:I would rather guess the Jupiter-8 is a whole lot more popular.
It is weird to think about how much flak received and downgraded Howard Jones has been, sort of the most uncool mullet artist of the early 80's, and who was one of the most well known users of that synth except him

Greed. Both prices are too much, but some ppl will pay anything. Good luck to the sellers i say. Im sure with that cash they can buy some decent stuff.Numanoid wrote:What is it that makes the Jupiter 8 being listed at $9300
