Having trouble sleeping tonight. So I thought I would post this.
(See Below) Did this earlier this evening just messing around with my Ion. A little delay on one of the patches and the bass is from a vsti demo. But the rest is just the Ion. This is by no means finished, it ends somewhat abruptly but I like it so far so I thought I would post anyway. Added another 2 minutes or so, still not quite there yet, want to add a feww more Ion parts. All that I added was done with the Ion except one track of M-42 which is not mixed very loud yet. will work on that. Here it is: http://home.earthlink.net/~novasonic/The%20Stranger.mp3 Last edited by Soniccat on Thu Jun 17, 2004 7:58 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Sounds good. Definitely has the vibe of Rubycon-era TD, which is of course a very good thing. |

Thanks Kuniklo, I thought so too. I know they have been using the Ion lately and the main patch I used sounded so much like them I had to try it. I did do some tweaking of the patches to get a sort of Mellotron sound. Thanks again. |

Thanks for listening Jax, yes I hear what you are saying about the bass, I hear it too. It is the delay that is on the bass, I used the minimoog demo from auturia and the preset had this weird delay on it and in order to not get the noise they put into the demo I ended cutting a section out so it shifts slightly at one point, I will try Motion one of my fave plugins at the moment to see if I can fix it. I might also try to use the Ion (it is a Hardware synth made by Alesis, an analogue Modeling synth) There are quite a few plugins that would probably work for this. Tangerine Dream from the seventies were a vig influence on me as well. |

Thanks Normal, the Ion is a nice piece of kit. The filters are real creamy and with the mod matrix makes for a real nice pad machine. Basicaly having a bit of fun here but will continue and hope for a somewhat longer tune. Thanks again. |

Thanks John,Having fun with this baby. Lots of knobs to twiddle and explore. It really does feel different with a hardware synth in you hands. Hope to work on this tune some more this week. Kind of busy with work at the moment, trying to earn some extra bucks for my next piece of hardware, the Evolver. |

Nice track. I enjoyed it a lot.
I have an ION and an Evolver. They pair up pretty well. I leave the Evo running with its wonderful distorted sequences as a bed and noodle over the top with the ION. Hours of fun ---- FT |

yes flametop that is exactly the intension I had for this pair. Can you use the Ion to control the Evolver? It seems that there is alot of potential with these two I can't wait now, salivating as I type. Thanks for listening. |

Nope, the Evo controlling has to be done from its front panel. It does not export many of its settings for MIDI automation using normal CCs etc. Theres been a fair amount of traffic on Evo mailing lists concerning poeple trying to get external knob boxes to work with it. Seems you really need one that can handle Sysex. ---- FT |

Ok, I can deal with that. just to have the sounds Evolver makes will be good enough for me. Mystahr wrote Quote: Indeed some creamy sounds from the new toy.... keep creating and expanding
Thanks Mark, yes some nice sounds the Ion makes, do not have an analogue to compare but from what I have heard of the others this is as close to true analogue a VA can get. I will be going home early today from work (feeling a little sick at the moment wolf_of_badenoch wrote: Quote: Nice sound. Hope you do some more with this, it's very pleasant to listen to
