I wasn't a Tracktion user until Waveform 8, which I bought specifically for the MIDI composition tools. I upgraded to W9 primarily for the new chord track, as I felt that completes the MIDI pattern generator feature.
I couldn't help noticing some comments over at the PreSonus forum wondering about a step sequencer in S1 though. They need something like Tracktion step clips because trying to do that workflow in a PRV is a lot of work.
The new Multi-sampler in W9 seems very easy to use, and I think it wins out over SampleOne in many ways.
