A simple nice synth with clean GUI. This is something NI lacked - most of their synths are rather experiemental novelties.

I couldn't have said it better. Turned it off after 2 minutes in.

Indeed. This harkens back to Pro-53 days (the filter in Super 8 is actually a refreshed emulation of Prophet-5 Rev 3 that's in NI offices, which was the same one used while creating Pro-53 back in the day).DJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 2:20 pm A simple nice synth with clean GUI. So this is sort of a mix between Prophet 5 and Alpha Juno in some way (due to certain waveshapes possible in the oscillator).
It's really simple but the way modulation is done makes it really great - it allows for a lot more simultaneous modulations than what you'd expect. And you can modulate each individual oscillator waveform separately (the Shape parameter), which is really great and expands the available sound creation potential considerably. It's simple, but it can do not so simple sounds.

Exactly !
Have we "hit the wall" when it come to synthesis ? Nothing new, nothing better ?

Flexion would have broken that wall. Sadly, it's never coming out.

What if the goal of this synth isnt to be a new mega synth, but to be a simple, fun-to-use polysynth that makes it easy to dial in good sounding patches, that fills up a void in the product lineup?
[insert mind blown meme]
It should be clear from the product page what the goal of the instrument is
