Have you tried Myth yet? I can not get it to respond to the MPE coming from the Linnstrument (or my Push 3). It is only getting the poly-AT (in addition to note & velocity). I have it set to MPE mode. My controllers work fine with SurgeXT and Arturia Pigments. Myth has a 90 day free trial in case anyone is interested in trying it.

Ignore this post ^^ User error as I expected. Ableton doesn't apparently recognize some (all?) MPE VSTs and I missed a MPE setting in the Ableton wrapper. MYTH is getting all the MPE data just fine.

I think it might be down to the plugin as to whether that MPE setting on a particular instrument plugin device is automatically enabled or not. The majority I've tried dont engage it automatically so I am used to right-clicking and enabling it in Ableton.

I didnt enjoy most of the sounds Myth produced when I first tried it, so I need to try it again another time to see if I was just in the wrong mood the first time.

Augmented YANGTZE by Arturia supports MPE, just like the others in that series.

I've not reached a conclusion as to what I think of that series of instruments, I like them in some ways but in others maybe they are a bit weak.

Like most Arturia stuff, you dont get a load of MPE factory sound presets with this one either, so you have to do some work to get much out of the MPE support.

How CPU-hungry is this new Aug. Yangtze? I only demoed Aug. Piano when it was released and I found it to be a massive CPU hog even with simple presets with not much processing.

I love the concept. But from what I've heard so far, I'm disappointed with the sound of their guqin...

Kong Audio and Ample Sound have much better sounding guqins. But not with MPE unfortunately.

This relatively new free synth does support MPE
https://github.com/gregrecco67/AudiblePlanets/
Its also the synth for this months OSC...!
You need to install the presets separately from

I haven't noticed Novum on this list, not sure it is new but it is new to me.

Nice overview video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnxYywAitLI

And 90 day free trial, just downloading...
Bitwig, against the constitution.

I don't have it, but looks like a new synth by Synapse Audio "The Legend HZ" is out now and it comes with MPE support.

I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to report on that side of things, as I've not paid attention to this with other plugins over the years, so I dont have a good sense of the broader context for what counts as hungry. And I have an Apple M processor that usually makes me pay even less attention and not know how the results would translate to other cpu architectures.

Noisy 2 from Expressive E features MPE and some hyperbole about its MPE control system that may be offputtingly over the top in its claims. But I'm still likely to explore it because it does look like they've at least done something a bit different in terms of blending the MPE gestures with an envelope, with settings for what circumstances the envelope kicks in rather than your own gestures.

I havent totally got my head round the description and concepts of that feature yet, or any weaknesses, just heard about it from the section of this video that starts around the 5 minutes 34 seconds point, with more detail about the envelopes just over a minute later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIofma1yIwk

The audio demos just sound okay. Not particularly expressive for MPE.

They sound worse (and much less interesting) than Myth, which also gives you the option of putting noise generators through physically modeled modal filters and resonators, as well as virtual analog subtractive.

I went through most of Expressive E's Phase Plant MPE presets. For the presets that had envelope triggers, getting the triggers to work well with the Seaboard was a hassle.
