I've used Diva a lot in these tracks:

https://dream-window.bandcamp.com/track/ame-no-kisetsu
(the main arpeggio, lots of automation on pitch bend, arp speed, etc.)

https://dream-window.bandcamp.com/track/red-orchid
(the synth note/chord sequence from 2:20 onwards)

Ame no Kisetsu...I'm not a prolific listener, and I can't say I've heard anything similar, but I enjoy the dreamy quality, the variety and placement of sounds, and the effects. Nothing get's over-used, and the vocals fit the overall mood that I absorbed.
I like that you kept the intro short, and the meat of the song is soon recognized. I rarely wait for long counts of repeated beats that overpopulate some genres. The tempo changes of synths/percussion work well with the pitch-bends. Lots of variations, but not too many. 8)

I like the punchy synth sounds in Red Orchid, Diva makes a great replacement for Fender Rhodes and countless other E-Pianos. The part is working well to keep the dramatic vocal moving. The overall feel and the changes toward the end remind me of some Imogen Heap selections, she's one of a handfull of artists I listen to at times throughout a year. I can imagine a lot of work went
in to producing your songs. Many nice surprises, and makes me think.
Cheers

This song, 'First Train To M31' makes use of Podolski, one of the world's more under-rated synths.

(update: sorry, but link is temporary disabled until I finish all songs to my new album - you can listen my other songs on www.xtdmusic.eu)

I recently bought Zebra legacy (I had only Diva from u-he) and decided to create whole song using Zebra.

For now it's beta version.
24 presets are from Zebra including drums and one (bass) from Diva.

Listening now, and the world is a better place with you composing with Zebra! Your sound selection and timing are great, and there is nothing distracting from the theme, and no empty space. The percussion is also doing it's job very well. Maybe Urs should have you make some demos for Zebra3.
Your arranging skills are excellent. Daw? Hardware recordering system? Both? :hyper:
I like the ascending/descending glissands, the various instrument bends, and building of suspense. Quite suitable for film/tv.

Thank you for your nice comment.

Just DAW.
And, to be perfectly fair, only Zebra (+ one Diva) was used as VST instruments, but there are also 3rd party plugins used as effects.

I put 2 songs in my music website, though I think the song on top: "Make The Right Choice" would interest you the most because it has Hive 2 and some non-u-he synths, and Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the music, how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

As usual, I like that you dive right in to the meaty part, and don't him/haw around for 32 beats. The vocal weavings and fade-outs are cool, the percussion is super as always, agressive and at excellent levels. The guitar solo seems to enter in a key-change, and is a nice diversion, and an excellent solo. I wish you'd add a second solo as the synth climbs and falls at the end, perhaps a bit longer than the first one, to close out the song. There are parts of the backup vocals that could be a bit louder, without nuking the lead, but, and lucky for you, I'm not the boss :hyper: Cool energetic music!

Now for some Off Topic, the fires in Lahaina Maui wiped out lots of people, who escaped with their kids and their cars, below are extensive video interviews of the escapes of a landscape contractor and family of 5 that lost home, tools and business, and a single mom with three kids and one on the way, whose apartment and all her business gear were also incinerated. Each interview has gofundme and venmo links. The nightmarish fires, and resultant PTSD that victims will deal with, motivated me to slog through learning the Bandcamp thing, and create a 35 song digital album, of existing songs, free for all, and if anyone finds a song or two you like enough to hear multiple times, please consider a donation to a charity you trust, or an indvidual in dire straights, these are hard times for so many people!

glokraw,
Thank you for checking out my music, I appreciate it! Maui has been my favorite place on earth for a long time, and I have been there many times. Hard to imagine such a horrific fire wiped out almost all of Lahaina. Now listening to "First Train to M31": you did the entire song with Podolski, or just part of it? I have used Podolski in the past, but kind of astonished how darn good your song sounds with it. Your song sounds spacey, and yet (dare I say?) heavenly. Very nice!

Hi, and very happy you like the M31. I think all sounds are Podolski, but might be a Tim Conrardy Wusik or Synth1 preset called Ozrical in there, but checked around, and can't verify that. A third-party sequencer was also used to scoot things around slowly. Maybe points to cryogenic sleep needed for any serious space travel, but I suspect only those dwelling in Heaven will have time for such things. During the search, I discovered more good presets and some fun tracks to be update.

My daughter's family spent the week before the fires at a place on the outskirts of Lahaina. They haven't yet watched the drone fly-over vids taken before the no-fly zone was enforced. I suspect it's gone. This a pretty good video showing the locals in actions, and some tough stories.

I put an album up at Bandcamp this morning, 20 songs, I think including 6 of the ones I've mentioned here. The upload process is a reminder of how blessed/fortunate we are to have access to such wonderful instruments and sounds...a golden age for all who want to dive right in.
"Hey Billy, where's the deep end?" "Don't worry, Johnboy, it's AAAALLLLLLL deeeeppp"

I put 2 songs in my music website: "The Warmth is Here" (the song on top: it has Repro-5, Hive 2, some non-u-he synths, and plenty of Presswerk compression; the lyrics even mention Hive!), and "See The Light 2" (the next song down, has no u-he products). Please tell me how you like the music, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

I love the rich and buzzy synth sounds, they really sit well beneath the cruchy rhythm guitar, and the bass that kicks in at 1:08 is superb! The levels on the guitar solo are just right, and there's no pointless repetition, everything comes on and holds it's own without delay. The synth solo in the 2nd half is also well done, keeps moving and building to the cool new keyboard parts. Speaking of which...

Just for fun, I pasted those new cool parts that started at 3:37:20 and added them up front to be the lead-in for the song,
End-at-begginning22.png
so the ending reprises the 'new' intro. You've always got some cool 'extras', that to me, are worth exploiting and jamming etc Hope you don't mind that I tinkered, a bit. I know that can be infuriating to some people.

See The Light 2 is also well done, never a dull moment. The intro is great,
with a 'The Doors' organ feel to the synth play. Man, The Doors sound is cool even decades later! But they missed out on all the fun plugins...

The title song from my new album, 'Hailing On All Frequencies', makes good use of Hive, one the the truly great instruments...

https://franklincheney.bandcamp.com/alb ... requencies

...probably several other songs also have U-he products under the hood, haven't double checked, but I don't often leave home without them

glokraw,
Thank you for checking out both of my songs! I would have posted something sooner, but I was on vacation earlier. I am flattered you would tinker with the audio on "The Warmth is Here", though I am not sure if you just posted the visual portion of your experimentation or if there was an audio file of that posted also. Now listening to "Hailing On All Frequencies": sounds pretty cool, and relaxing! Now listening to "Broken Fever": like living in a spacey clock shop where all of the clocks are ringing out. That was cool too! So was "The Scars of War". By the way, I performed in a cover band in 1984 where we played at Gazzarri's in West Hollywood. A ton of famous groups played there before (and after) I played there including The Doors. That Doors concert there was also reviewed by the Los Angeles Times; it called them a jazz band, somewhat surprisingly to me. But their drummer was a jazz drummer I think.
