Thanks for listening and commenting! Have you got tickets for NAMM?
Here's an mp3 of the first 30 seconds. Adjusted to remove a few bare beats,
and attack with the synth on cue.

glokraw,
I might have faded in the very intro of the glokraw mix of "Feel the Warmth", but yeah, that was a good idea! NAMM? I actually live pretty close to that, but I thought you had to work for a retail musical instrument store or work as a professional in the music industry to get into NAMM. Though maybe I am wrong.

I think you'd qualify on a few levels! Maybe apply with Urs to be a concierge for the U-he team?

Mr. Heckmann, I am ready for duty! I am concerned NAMM might be an inner sanctum of noise. Would it be like being in Guitar Center on a Saturday afternoon, with half a dozen guitar players playing 5 different songs all at the same time at 120 dB? It would be cool to see some musical artists that I like, if stuff like that happens. Not clear what it would cost me, also.

I put a new song in my music website called "Know Your Game". It has Presswerk compression, ZebraHZ, and some non-u-he synths. Please tell me how you like the song, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor if you wish. The song is at the top of this link:

As I started listening, I thought, 'cool, he's got another unique intro', while maintaining some recognizable tonality in the punchy grungy bass, and sharp tight percussion. On a whim, I listened to the first 15 or so seconds of the first 15 songs in your list, and none of them start out the same. No easy feat when you're presenting a style of songs with some favorite synths and energetic lead guitar. Aaron's Intro's, the new AI :hyper:

Speaking of which, there's some nice background intertwining of vocals and guitar, and then some sweeping unison voice and guitar, nicely done. Probably not easy in the first take? The intros of new synth parts are timed well, with good instrument choices, effects, and interesting percussion mods. Nice surprises throughout. The outro could be the start of a cool new song?

There's a new Hive2 tutorial from U-he's Sebastion, courtesy of Plugin Boutique, the first 6 minutes
of an hour and 22 minutes are intro boutique related chatter. I've made quite a few purchase there over the year$

Have you been following the intro of Fender's Tone Master Pro? An interesting high-end amp/fx stomp modeler, with a big touch screen, big price, and dozens of youtube videos. Of course many will assume such beasts are just for guitars, but the truth is out there in the wilds

glokraw,
Thank you for your kind words regarding my music; I really appreciate it! The u-he video was informative too! AI? Sure, why not! I rarely get it right on the first take. I meant to earlier, but did not check out Fender's Tone Master Pro on youtube until you just mentioned it: yes, it has nice sounds. But $1,700 is pretty expensive. Do they have a software version that costs a lot less? For years, I have been mostly using Line 6 Helix Native for guitar amp modeling, and mostly guitar oriented effects. I am now listening to "Bleeding Out": very nice song! It flows nicely, with no one bleeding to death. ;). The song: it is relaxing and pleasant. :)

Helix is a cool line of products, I installed the demo plugin when it came out, very impressive as a first release. And now so many top hardware releases with it. Fender have a PC/mac editor, but haven't heard any talk of a full multi-fx app. Watched a Leon Todd review of Guitar Rig 7, and that was pretty convincing. I have V6, so I'll be watching on Black Friday and Cyber-Monday, and Tough-Luck Tuesday  I've been using combos of IK's Amplitube, Mixbox, and their ToneX freebie plugin, and having a fun time. But BlueCat's Axiom suite is my goto. It even hosts 3rd party vsts. Glad you're enjoying a tune, I uploaded a new album at BandCamp tonight,
'Skyward'. Has some nice U-he riffs inside. 20 songs, pretty low-key with a few exceptions.

I put a new song in my music website called “Cowabunga Cucamonga”. Cucamonga is a city in Southern California roughly 40 miles from the Pacific Ocean. But how long will that last? This song has plenty of Presswerk compression and some ZebraHZ synth (and some non-u-he synth). Please tell me how you like the song, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. I put 2 songs in my music website: "To Be My Goal" is the song on top (it has Repro-1, Hive 2, Repro-5, ZebraHZ, some non-u-he synths, and Presswerk compression), and "It's Not Expected 2" (it has some real Sequential Circuits Pro-One, Diva, and some non-u-he synths) is the next song down. Please tell me how you like the music, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

Evening folks,

I just submitted a track for KVR OSC179. This month is a rare 'Any One Synth', so it was a great opportunity to become better acquainted with one of u-he's best synths (hey, they're all good, I know... ; ) - All sounds are generated with Hive.

Enjoy, or not... :D

neverbeeninariot (count yourself lucky!),
Listening to "Hex on the Beach". As a mechanical engineer, I often work with hex nuts and hex bolts (don't leave your nuts on the beach too long, they'll get rusty!). Sounds like an 80's reggae song, if you ask me.......you were asking, right? Cool song; I like it! Nice audio quality. Perhaps you can check out my most recent song just above yours.

What can I say, I'm working on it... !

Thanks for listening and responding! I've submited Hex for the OSC this month (it's 100% Hive), and comments good and bad are de rigueur there, so yep, public forum, it's all good ; )

I'm a 70's/80's dub/reggae nut btw, so I guess I'm flicking at least some of the right switches : )

Perhaps...

:P

I have listened to the first few on your playlist. They are brimming with ideas, and are very well constructed songs - are you playing everything yourself here? If so, top job man, some great stuff going on :tu:

If you were to ask me... I'm hearing shades of Devo, with undertones of Roxy, and aromas of U2, Jesus Jones, and Sparks, with sprinkles of Muse. These are all great touchpoints - but the end results are unique. You were asking right? :D

If I was going to be nitpicky (I am, a little)*, the recordings of the individual elements sound great - drums are BIG but not overpowering, bass guitar is awesomely grunty, guitars are cutting through, vocal is nicely present... To my ears though, the mixes can sometimes feel a little out of balance, some instruments feel like they are clashing in some freq ranges or are just a too loud/quiet at times (synth solo really pokes out in To Be My Goal, for example, and on The Warmth is Here the vocal is too upfront). Maybe a little more mix glue and polish required?

*Caveat - All IMO, of course. I'm just some random dude on the internet who loves dub, and the mixes might sound exactly as you intended, in which case I'll jog on.. : )

cheers
