Trouble using Weaponiser for rhythm track

I am using a demo of Weaponiser with the thought that it would make for interesting rhythm tracks.

I set up a single test rhythm track, with notes alternating between C4 and C#4
eight times per measure at 120 BPM.

No matter which preset I used, I consistently saw this message when I played the track before a single measure was completed:
“Error while trying to synchronize audio and midi”

I’m using Logic 10.5.1 in Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5. on a quad-core Macbook Pro with a speed of 2.3 GHz. No other tracks are running—just Weaponiser on one track.

What’s up with this? I can’t imagine I’m the first person to try setting up a rhythm track with Weaponiser—and I’d think this would be of interest to a lot of composers. I like the idea of it, but it isn’t working. Any advice?

This problem disappeared in further use. Maybe my computer just needed to be rebooted. I have since used 9 instances of Weaponiser in one composition on Logic, and it has worked fine, without any midi error messages.
