Stopped buying from IL a long time ago, lifetime updates mean nothing when they've failed to fix numerous reported bugs with the Maxx synths for nearly a decade a now.. wish I could sell the damn account as I use none of it

So that's a no lol. I just find it a memory hog and a couple of the updates went screwy for me... Reaper is working much better for me.

Some day, there will be a class action suit to il, for 1 reason alone and that will be General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which they violate in my opinion ! you can try to get your private data (valid customers only) from them good luck. what do you all think about that ?

For me they have valid arguments. I mean - life time update, no copyprotection, then this leads to NFR. One dead you must die.

Pretty fair in my eyes.

i dont think so. better ask imagine line support :D

That's frustrating - I was looking to move to Ableton Live (currently using the 90 day trial). Time for a change. I was hoping to recoup some of the money I'd spent on the "All Plugins Edition". I think it's a fair stance from Image Line, though, considering they offer a lifetime of free updates, so I shan't grumble...

Yeah, I bought FL Studio Producer to learn EDM production because that's what someone I know suggested.

About a month into it after I started to get the hang of it, I realized there must be something less clunky than this from a usability perspective.

Now I'm happily using Bitwig. And still stuck with FL Studio that I'm not likely to use again.

Bitwig eh? Ableton Live is at the top of my list at the moment (although I’m missing FL’s piano roll), but a few FL users seem to have moved to Bitwig, so I really should take a look after my Ableton Trial.

In many ways, it is similar to Ableton.

I think they give 30 days on the full version demo. But you can't save any projects.

Here's a link to get the 8-track version for free which does allow you to save projects, and would give you a slight discount for upgrade to the full version.

Bitwig also frequently has sales if you sign up for their newsletter. So you could probably get the full version of a little cheaper if you're willing to wait.

You can also have both 8-track and the demo both installed at the same time, so you can still evaluate the full version versus 8-track.

Thanks for the info, and thanks for the link to the 8-track version! I'll definitely grab that...

Here's a comparison with the full version
https://www.bitwig.com/feature-list-8-track/

So if you're interested in also checking out the grid and note grid, which are the two biggest features you won't get, you'd want to also install the demo of the full version. And you can switch between the versions within bitwig while it's running
