renamed and organized some patch banks. Got Komplexer running again. Pulled in a few WTs. Listened. Staring at the pages of the interface now

Tried out some reverb IR’s. Bounced a mix, instrumental and performance track for a mix I just finished, and mastered them. Transferred some sounds from the RYTM to back up, and backed up some other stuff.

Next album project is now 10 minutes longer. Part of it is a little steel tongue drum that I got as a gift, played through a Meng Qi Wingie 2 and then spring reverb. That was fun... gonna have to see what Virta will do to the tongue drum sometime.

I didn't know that they were using steel tongues as prosthetics these days. Please don't tell me you brought in a live recipient for the tracks.

I just finished my first mastering project of the year, and now I'm setting up to work on a whole album's worth of mixes for a new client. I really hope to get more work this year. If not I may have to start... advertising my services.
It's so funny how things were dead in the the second half of 2023 but as soon as I had my studio pulled apart, I had three requests for mastering work and two for mixing work.
I'll finally be finished with my studio maintenance project this weekend. After almost three months of being out of commission, I'm only two weeks behind.
I've managed to cut out 200 meters of cable, with my new setup. That may sound like a lot but there is still almost 2 miles of cabling (if you count the each of the individual cables within a snake ). It's been a huge project but well worth it.

Playing around in VCV Rack with different microtonal scales. Pretty fun.
Was inspired into it by watching some Sevish videos like this one for Starfish. Good stuff

I 'wrapped my cable' 5 times today, my wrists are sore now.
Giving up on composition to focus on composing ambient soundtracks for old silent films. I need a new challenge, too much same old same old has be feeling creatively stifled. DJ'ing gig is also taking up time, and I'm going back to horror writing as well.
I'll die tired but happy-ish, I suppose. Meh.

finishing up some music. It's freeing when you really know you are non-commercial.

Driving jams, transport and BPM, directly from my TR-8S and by multing its sync out.
It’s really noticeable how much everything ties together better that way than trying to drive clocks from my PC and DAW.
Even getting some use out of my Korg SQ-64 though it could do with more than three melodic tracks.

Finished figuring out how the Digitakt would integrate with my DAW. So now it can be just another instrument- or not, it could be my on-the-road sequencer I guess. I like having a lot of things that sequence because I like the idea of having sequences not quite sync up or having juxtapositions of timed events. eventually

Finally installed Triple Cheese and played with it for a bit. Was kinda worn out after a bunch of afternoon yard work, so something simple and relatively mindless was pretty much what the doctor ordered. Really cool synth, definitely want to explore it more.

Playing with the latest Plughugger patch set for Omnisphere that's been sampled off the Wasp Deluxe.
It's very meaty.

Hadn't used Europa inside Reason for ages. It's still a fantastic sounding soft synth. Got most of a track from it in the last hour just by multitracking different patches on it.

Playing with stuff in Komplete Kontrol. I've played keys more in the last couple of months than I have in years. Forgotten how fun it was.
