I believe the MIDI implementation of DeepMind 6 is identical to DeepMind 12.
Let's hope it's the same with pro-800 and pro-16

The Prophet-600 only has a mono output, like many synths of that era. You’ll have to use some external FX to get that spacious effect with pads. I pretty much always ran my Prophet-600 into something like a Lexicon Vortex effect unit.

Behringer are working on VST versions of Pro16 and UB-Xa which should integrate with the hardware. https://www.musicradar.com/news/behring ... th-plugins

With the latest version, I added the edit functionality. You can copy, paste, rename patch and save it to the unit.
This feature is only available on the standalone version. Also, this feature is based on unofficial documents (https://github.com/samstaton/pro800/blo ... o800syx.md), so it is experimental and incomplete.
Save your presets before using it!
The M4L and the standalone are free to download. Download links can be found at the end of this page: https://midipeak.com/product/pro-800-remote/.

A new version is available with:
Bug fixes (including preset name editing).
Informational message before saving a preset in your unit. This message also allows you to modify the name of the preset.
You can import a syx file, edit it and control your unit through it.

So apparently there was a firmware update (1.3.6 or 1.3.7) which changed the sound and settings of this synth, and so I've been trying to find some good examples of the difference in sound, and I have to say, I'm not liking the sounds so far. This is probably not the synth itself but the rather poor examples people have been posting.
So if anyone can post some good examples of the latest firmware sounds, please go ahead!

Yeah, problem with that video is that the sounds are accompanied by vocals, samples or drums, or they're drowned out by effects. It's very difficult to make a conclusion.

You can use vanilla style effects, like chorus, but that it's not always what you want.
For that a Haas effect works well, to make it sound like it was mic'ed in stereo.
It just delays one side a little bit.
QuickHaas is free, and Kilohearts has a longer delay version

edit - another freebie, with more features

Before Live 11, I used Haas effect from Audec, and since Live 11 if I'm not mistaken, I use Align Delay in Audio FX > Utilities for that. If you are a Live 11 user obviously.

Regarding the mono output, what is wrong with using the stereo phones output to achieve this? I realise that it is not ideal using a mini jack to 1/4 inch adaptor or something, but would it work and provide stereo output? Or is it still just a split mono output of some sort?

I tried with the Headphone out and the Audio out on the front panel and both are dual mono so it doesn't work.dellboy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 10:24 am Regarding the mono output, what is wrong with using the stereo phones output to achieve this? If i want some Stereo action i use the Free Plugin called Wider set at 50% or Stereo effects
No Synth that i have played have sounded great without effects which are used to bring them to life.
