Tutorial n°2 - 'How to compil new StoniK instruments'

it was a marathon day to get this video done... SoundDebug will probably be controversial (not sure if other audio formats other than 16 bits will work). I still have to improve it, but we can still make a success of this modest tutorial!

Version 0.10 : (07/25/2023) [minor update]:
  • Midi note to the Keyboard when click to 'Preview'(Play Mark Note>)
  • Better parameter list (not yet view in a DAW recently) and more possibilities in Midi Learn
  • Range of the glide writable (click to the text)
  • Good speed of note incrementation (Run Loop) when 'Freeze with count' with a rythmic matrice OSC Pitch different of 1X
  • Copy / Paste don't create useless LOOPSTART / LOOPEND text files
  • Fix the length (seconds)
  • Improvement of Measure / Time changes
  • Shortcut on update & Load work again
  • Loading gauge for long sounds (1 minute of sound = 2 seconds of loading time approximately)

hi again chopen,

i tried converting the philantropic easter orchestra soundbank
using your sounddebug software but i failed

is it even doable?
that orchestra soundbank is multi-layered?
but your video tutorial is for single-layer?
i'm not even sure
could that be the problem?
or maybe i'm not just doing it right?

i will try to convert other single-layer soundbanks
from elsewhere to see if it is doable

i know it is very easy to do in some drum samplers
for example, in the sitala drum sampler
one just drag-and-drop the .wav files onto the drum pads

anyway, i like hyperstonik very much
the saturate and haas controls are very useful
when mixing the tracks
and i still have to learn to use the other effects
which are kind of hidden
are they modular?
they use virtual cables?

if i could learn how to make soundbanks,
hyperstonik will be my main sampler or rompler
it is very stable in reaper
and the other soundbanks that are already converted
are very useful too

if you convert the philantropic easter orchestra soundbank
i will at least know that it's doable
and i can keep trying to convert it myself
using your sounddebug converter

For the moment, just one layer but you can load several instance of HyperStoniK in your DAW... This fonction will implemented in a couple a month. Tomorrow (today but soon after sleeping) I'm going to update SoundDebug (with new Elena Design modules :pray: ). Don't need to convert the sound. Just Load the [STONIK_NAME] if it is not create and Load it after (SoundDebug of course). The next tutorial will focus on the conversion of this soundbank ! :tu:

_ Work better in a host when you pass the plugin to the background / foreground
* Should more stable when you load a multi plugin session (still needs to be tested)
_ ID different between VST2 & VST3 versions
_ Red grid fix again (marker 68 bad connected to marker 58)
_ Display in the foreground of the Hexadecimal 'Color' adjustment windows
_ Some global dice missing...

I have try HyperStoniK in a DAW in multi-plugin mode and it was a bit of a disaster... I think it's better now with this version

I have updated the SoundDebug too... (more possibilities / pitch support / some fix)
we can range .wav sound by note (sharp by default and flat now with lowercase or uppercase...). The flat names must be these words must be preceded by a '_'. You could change this symbol by editing Sort_Note.bat and change the '_' in line 2 by another symbol if you want...

I'll try to made another 'performance tutorial' anytime when I'm on my feet ! :zzz:

Hello ! For some unknown reason, I noticed when I wanted to resume my work that there was no sound in HyperStoniK. :dog: I recompiled the project and everything is fine now... :pray:

Verify that you have the good version :
StoniK_[v.0.11_]_(KVRDC2023)_ or HyperStoniK_V.0.11_.rar instead of HyperStoniK_V.0.11.rar or StoniK_[v.0.11]_(KVRDC2023)_

Sorry, by testing with cubase 12, I see some another bugs fix in version 0.12 of HyperStoniK soon...

I still managed to make a demo with some HyperStoniK instruments and 2 KVRDC23 soundware in guess star :band2:

and it will not the last update... (bug with 'Overpitch' when passage from background to foreground of the plugin in a DAW). I prefer to warn before (this function is really very esoteric anyway and not necessarily useful...)

I noticed that there was a 2 second delay between the sound and the image in the previous video. I just solved the problem. I'm too lazy to improve the song :ud:

hi chopen,

so, i finally figured out that the hidden effects:
arp, eq, delay, flanger, crusher, and reverb
are turned off or bypassed by default

in addition to the visible saturate and haas effects,
they are great sound shapers

i have seen your video demonstrations at vlad's
northern trumpets comment page
and again hyperstonik's sound shaping capabilities
are pretty impressive
to me at least
and it seems to vlad too

this year i am going to vote 5 points or first place
for your plugin, for your hard work and for the stability
and usability of hyperstonik in reaper
and for the more than a few downloadable soundbanks
and possibly for more soundbanks in the future

During these last 3 months, I have thought well. By dint of a lot of frustration, I managed to assemble this fabulous plugin piece by piece. Myself, when I tried it during the last 2 weeks, it exceeded all my expectations. The possible duration of loading sounds with a little wait, the 'run loop' effect in orchestral mode on an instrument, the crusher finally well adjusted not to hear unpleasant clicks, and good stability in a Host sequencer even if I did not succeed the first time, it took many updates to get there

Too bad I haven't yet covered Loop mode in the tutorials and the possibilities of rearranging slices with the graphical interface, the possibility of saving a template appended to the .wav file...

Still a lot of things to explore in a documentation that is a little late in coming...
If there would be the possibility of extending the deadline for the votes, I would hurry to finish the instructions...

but since I'm not the only one, we're not going to overdo it and go that far anyway I think...

Soon, I am preparing the user manual and the blog that will talk about it.

it would be great if we could have an additional 15 days to be able to better test other people's plugins too. I still have a few small points to give but I don't know to whom yet. I really want to tweak a little plugin on synthcraft for example just for fun (the most original projet to my taste...) and build other pieces of music using KVRDC23 effects. on the Synthetizer plugins this year, it was not very transcendent I find. But still very good sound banks...
