May need to save it for the right frame of mind.

Had the desired effect of various members of my family wandering into the room and
a) frowning at the speakers before leaving the room again
b) asking 'who makes this kind of music?'
c) both of the above

hey tomtom 8)
the visuals come from "imaginando visual synth"
which responds to live audio or midi (or both)
then in obs i layer a few screen captures, using the basic fx onbiard obs, i add masks and change colours.
then flip things or change sizes so the layers all look different.
then add a crappy webcam and thats the extent of my video studio :hihi:

visual synth is fairly expensive, but they do pretty good discounts on sales :)

Reminds me of Coil 8)
Needs more cowbell though (especially in the part where the alien abduction team starts to regret feeding the cow all that ice cream).

People looking for a cheaper solution should try Windows' free Media Player (MP Legacy, in Win11) and DL the free "visualisations" on offer in its right click menu.

there's lots of options really, some are just far more complicated.
there's a "does kvr need a video forum" thread in everything else, lots of cool stuff in there too, one i remember the name of was milkdrop. but beyond my understanding :( :hihi:
