I don't currently own any Tone2 plugins other than the CM Icarus 1.6 ATM, although I've owned almost all of them in the past and have had some correspondence concerning some different things (re:sales/resales) but not support since they all worked great for me. What I can easily say is they've always been polite and professional with great integrity in my dealing with them.

I tried to sell this right after buying it as didn't click with me for a few reasons but I really dug into it last night and I'm so glad it didn't sell.. the sound is just awesome, what a synth.

I have all the Tone2 instruments except for that old one that they reissued… I can’t think of the name of it, anyway, rarely had any issues but the few times I had a minor problem the customer service was excellent. Markus even added my beloved polyphonic aftertouch to Icarus for me after I requested it.BBFG# wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 9:20 pm I don't currently own any Tone2 plugins other than the CM Icarus 1.6 ATM, although I've owned almost all of them in the past and have had some correspondence concerning some different things (re:sales/resales) but not support since they all worked great for me. The truth is, Tone2 plugins sound great. If I were to have a criticism about them, it would be that their presets are not really to my liking, but I honestly don’t care that much as I’ve never had a hard time coming up with my own, or modifying the ones I don’t like.

All I can say is that I'm really looking forward to Icarus 3. Version 2.5 has become one of my most used synths and I'm confident that the upgrade will get even more use. It's a very impressive list of additions and changes.
I'm looking forward to the PC version and if I even bother trying the demo before upgrading it probably won't be for more than a couple of minutes before I make the purchase.
Bring it on......

The Downloads page on Tone2 is currently missing download links to the full versions of Icarus, Nemesis, RayBlaster, and Gladiator. There is only an "Upgrade" link for those, and appears to be no way to download full versions for current owners.

For me it's all come down to preset management. Being able to discard the majority of those more suitable to genre/styles I don't care to do. Finding a handful that I love and removing those I don't makes a plug-in more efficient to me. The plugins who's overall character I didn't get along with were Nemesis and ElectraX. And I do think they're great,. Just not for my tastes.zerocrossing wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 2:18 pmI have all the Tone2 instruments except for that old one that they reissued… I can’t think of the name of it, anyway, rarely had any issues but the few times I had a minor problem the customer service was excellent. Sadly because of heavy abuse by hackers and software pirates in the past we can not longer simply post all download links to the public. Thank you for your understanding.

The only private download links I ever received were from MyCommerce, and those expire within 30 days or so. The only download link that remains active thereafter is for the product key, and I have my product keys. There is no way to download installers from MyCommerce after 30 days.Tone2 Synthesizers wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:16 pm If you lost your keys or your private download links for a paid upgrade and you forgot to create a backup you can request a free reshipment here:

If you purchase from them you can optionally order a backup CD or some kind of 'extended download'. But they take extra $ for the service.teilo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:33 pmThe only private download links I ever received were from MyCommerce, and those expire within 30 days or so. That's why we recommend to create your own backups. Our key files are tiny and the file sizes of the installers are also not very big.
As mentioned before: If you need your stuff reshiped simply contact us. We do the reshipments for free.

So how is this going to work in the future? I bought the Icarus3 upgrade over a month ago and have the beta. Will I get a new email when it is released with download links? Will I have to request reshipment every time one of these synths has a minor update?Tone2 Synthesizers wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:50 pmIf you purchase from them you can optionally order a backup CD or some kind of 'extended download'. In the past this was never an issue. My key files are backed up in 1Password. But I felt no need to keep installers around since they were always available on the Tone2 website.
Other devs, such as BlueCat, solve this problem by assigning a user a permanent custom download link that always has the latest version.

When Icarus3 is released you will receive an email with a permanent download link and a password.
When updates are released you will either be able to download them directly from the website or you will receive an email with a download link and a password.
Installers of older products will be also available as a simple direct download on the website. You won't need a password for them.
