Aligning harmonics

I have a recording that includes some double-tracked kalimbas. The melody is C minor pentatonic, and the tones are in tune, but the percussive harmonics are not.

I've heard this described in different ways, so hopefully I'm not getting the terminology wrong. I've heard it described as 'odd harmonics,' 'cold frequencies,' or 'chromatic frequencies.' Hopefully you can hear it in the recording. The metallic 'scraping' or 'plucking' sounds seem out of tune with the tones.

Anyway, my question is this: now that I have recorded this, what can I do to either align the harmonics with the key of the melody, or suppress these frequencies so they're not as audible?

This sounds like a use case for the new Scaler EQ from Plugin Boutique.

It’s a nice recording - I’d just leave it as it is. There’s probably ways of “fixing” it but you’ll likely drive yourself mad in the process :)

Seeing this/these instruments are a mix of harmonic and enharmonic overtones - what defines them from say a harpsichord or lute - I wonder why you would ever consider such a "mutilation" of the performance? Doing so would require a really strong Artistic reason (not a technical one) or it is somewhat like getting Metallica song to mix and changing all the sounds to Portatone presets :ud:
