Not exactly a bug, but it would be nice to be able to choose a custom location where I can install the VST3 plugin. It defaults to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\.

Maybe its not possible? Thanks :)

These locations are fixed...

Dragging a wav file into the Zebralette doesn't work on Linux. Simply nothing happens.

Fedora 39, KDE 5.27.10. Tested in X11 and Wayland sessions. Tested VST2, VST3 and CLAP versions in REAPER 7.11+dev0217 and Bitwig Studio 5.1.3 (unpacked flatpak version, no sandbox restrictions). I tried starting host apps from command line to monitor logs, but there's nothing there when I drag and drop wav files from internal (host) or external (os) file browser.

Post

Crashed upon first load, when opening GUI, in VSTHost 1.57.
2nd time it worked and 3rd time it crashed again. 4th time it worked again and so on.
Worked fine in Cubase 13.0.21.

* Windows 10 on Ryzen 3950x
* VSThost x64 (Double Precision) 1.57.
* VST3 REV 15573
* Sample rate 44100 / 128 samples

I've attached the u-he-log.

Error message from VSThost:

drag&drop wav files
kinda hit&miss on mac mojave:

sometimes works
quite often SPOD (presumely neverending)
or, also quite often, an immediate crash

crash reports (this time with hostingAU) saved

Hi HcDoom,

let's dig in!
I tested this with a bunch of synths I have here and they all exhibit the same or very similar behaviour (with comparable settings), and I'd expect so too. As soon as phases shift around for a while, occasional low wobble comes in and goes away again. Again, if I choose similar detune spreads and stereo width settings like in Zebralette3, they all do pretty much the same thing.

But I'm open to hearing what you hear in other synths, so my question would be:
Can you create "detuned saw" presets with a bunch of your preferred synths and send them to me for comparison? Requirement: Make them all mono please, and make sure that all unison saws are same volume, no emphasis of the middle voices for example.
The following synths would work for me:
Massive (the old one), MassiveX, Pigments, Rapid, Dune 3, Omnisphere 2, Serum, Vital, Spire, Sylenth.

Send them to: support[at]u-he.com

Thanks!

Backspace doesn't do anything. Tried selecting points and hitting backspace but nothing happens.

I haven't read through the entire thread so not sure if this is reported yet, but there seems to be a memory leak.

macOS Sonoma 14.3
Mac Mini M1 (16GB ram)
Apple Logic Pro 10.8.1

With an empty template and one instance of Zebralette loaded into a track, Logic was taking up 16+ GB memory after sitting idle for 24 hours. Memory pressure was "yellow." I removed the instance of Zebralette on my track (changing plugin to "none") and memory and that freed up about 16GB of RAM, logic is now using 534MB.

This might be a feature, not a bug, but I noticed that the "MoveSelectionL/R" tools are affected (somewhat) by the "CloseShapeLeft/Right" feature. For example, if "CloseShapeLeft" is selected, and you use "MoveSelectionR" to shift the selection one point to the right until you get to edge of the editor window, the final selection just selects the next to last handle instead of selecting the last two points. It likely has to do with the fact that the "closed shape" is using the first and last points as it's own sort of "selection". Not really a big deal at all. Just something I noticed.

macOS Ventura 13.6.4
Mac Mini M1 (8 GB ram)
Bitwig 5.0.11

Thanks for that, wasn't reported yet. We'll have a look.

Implementing keyboard shortcuts is still work in progress.
Many are not implemented on Windows yet.
Existing shortcuts might also change.

Andreya_Autumn wrote: Tue Feb 20, 2024 1:44 pm I found something I think may be a DSP bug. Attaching a gif (edit:nvm, screenshots it it) that shows the issue.

In words:
Start from Init
Set curve spectrum mode
Make an oscillator curve with only fundamental and some high treble
play a bass note, say C2.

The additive renderer sounds as expected, whereas the wavetable renderer makes crackly noise, and also seems to evaluate the high frequencies differently.

I'll send this via e-mail as well, as requested.

I noticed this kind of behavior as well. I interpreted it as simply being aliasing, which I mentioned in the general discussion but on a closer inspection, there is definitely something more strange happening at the higher end of the spectrum.
I'll have a look... hmmm yes, can confirm.

Hey,

Crash in FL Studio with switching the osc renderer from additive to wavetable in the Flowing Seagrass preset. Very randomly, and not necessarily with the first click, but i got it three times now. I am not sure if it has something to do with holding down a key at my midi keyboard while switching the renderer. But i had the key held down every time.

Kind regards
Tiles

But the L / R stereo distribution is also uncommon. Compare with Serum (2nd image):

It's a different pattern, yes. Why is it strange though?
Serum (according to that screenshot) pans voices in an alternating pattern from low to high, we pan sequentially. If different panning patterns are preferable to your ears, that would not be a bug, but certainly worth question or a feature request, you could do that in the wavetable engine thread:
