Might be an initial setup problem. Installed using the normal Debian installer, no problems.

I'm currently using Pipewire and Pipewire-Pulse which are still new to me. No problems playing one of the demos through my Lotigech headset, but I kept seeing the volume setting pop up on the screen every 30 to 50 seconds. I used qpwgraph to get a visual of the pipewire connections and that showed the libcanberra "modules" accumulating in the window. It's up to 50 now after I closed Waveform 12.

Any ideas? I need to log out to stop this.

Linux Mint 21.3
MSI 760G-P23 motherboard
FX8320E 8 thread processor
16 gb of ram
Logitech G633 headset wired USB

let me know if there is anything else you need.
Thanks
Mark

p.s. The software looks great so far. I look forward to learning how to use it and do some recording work.

Yeah, try posting again here, in the dedicated Tracktion forum: viewforum.php?f=22
Waveform used to be called Tracktion, so...

Good luck!

After having a quick look what "libcanberra" actually is: try disabling event sounds...

Hopefully...but where is that? I've been through all of the settings I can find, but nothing pops up as Event Sounds disable/enable.

Thanks for the reply!

I managed to find some hints here:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... -in-debian

(which is why I hate Linux for desktop work: the fix for an issue always depends on many factors)

Oh, oi...event sounds in Linux. (facepalms)
I was scouring Waveform 12 for Disable Event Sounds.
I even remember seeing something like that awhile back.
I'll let you know.

Maybe now it's not yet too late to "simply" switch distribution. I heard of a dedicated "AV linux" distro for audio/video work, which might be better suited to what you want to do than a "generic" Debian install.
