I put 2 songs in my music website: "Trying To Create" is the song on top, and "Save Me From Myself2" is the next song down. Please tell me how you like the music, and how they can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

Trying To Create is in a darker mood. The drums and synths sound very fat. The guitar is nice, too. I don't like the vocals but that is kind of a taste. Overall well mixed and well sounding song. Maybe a bit too long.
Save Me From Myself is mixed a bit softer what I like. There are nice synth soundscapes in it which fit the track quite well. Again I don't like the vocals.
Please listen to my song "Probably" which you will find in the feedback section some entries down from you. Thanks.

Okay, here goes.
Trying To Create - Love the ARP on this one. In fact, I love the ARP on most of your songs. Drums were especially good on this one. I say that because at times you tend to have them bit low in the mix. But this time, wow, crystal clear. Especially that snare. Production wise, this may be one of your best songs. The guitar lead is super cool. Sounds like it's pretty heavy on effects. Wish I could get my guitars to sound this good. LOL. All in all, loved every second of this one. BTW, the ARP reminds me of another song. It will come to me eventually.
Save Me From Myself - Another one with the drums nice and clear though not as up front as the previous song. Vocals are a little loud on this one in relation to the backing track. If this was intentional, cool. Personally I would have taken them down a db or two but that's just personal taste because my ears are very sensitive to loud vocals in relation to the instrumentation. Otherwise, well done. Love the chorus on this one. Very catchy. One of the synths sounds like a Polymoog emulation. Yes? Anyway, cool tune.
Please don't worry about listening to another track of mine. Because of severe time limitations, I only do one song a month now. Everything else on my page you've probably already commented on unless it's very old. So it's all good.

Create:
Liked the minimalist sections, percussion was good, esp some of the drum fills, although a little bit overdone sometimes and happen a little too often.
Guitar solo was good but overstayed its welcome a few bars too long.
Your vocals were good and expressive, I'm a fan of your voice.
Save me from myself2:
Love the vocals (again) and their treatment.
Vocal rhythm and arrangement was also good. You made the outro interesting.
Well done.
Don't worry about reviewing any of my songs, not done one in a long time.

wagtunes,
Thank you for reviewing both songs; I appreciate it! Here's what I did with the lead guitar for "Trying To Create": I used Melodyne Assistant to convert most of the guitar notes into MIDI (but still use the guitar audio), and then I used that MIDI to trigger a synth. On "Save Me From Myself2": that Gary Numan/Polymoog-like synth is Zebra2; I took someone else's patch and tweaked it. My hearing seems not entirely consistent. One day the mix of things sounds good to me, and then on a different day, the mix sounds like it needs significant adjustment.

Trying To Create - loved this. Reminded me, or at least gave me flashbacks to Blancmange and their 1982 album, Happy Families. This 1982 release is only two years early for the white Testarossa, sunshine and flamingo influence I also enjoyed about the track. A cracker of a tune, Aaron.
Save Me From Myself - also gave me vibes of Blancmange (Feel Me, God's Kitchen are a couple of tracks that spring to mind). Something about the mix of the synth and your vocal delivery. Again, bang on, mate.
If you'd like to have a listen to the latest collab from Genetic_Junk and I, there's a recent thread and tune called Here Endeth The Lesson. Cheers

The beginning of "Trying to Create" reminds me a bit of Jan Hammer's Miami Vice Theme. Then the vocals and wild solos kick in and it goes in a unique direction. It sounds like you had fun doing it and it's a fun listen.
Some minor notes: I think the same drum fill occurs too frequently. The mix is a bit muddy and mid-heavy. You could shorten it by 1 minute.
Overall, very good track!

Listened to Trying to Create. Oh man, this throws off a great Talking Heads vibe. Dunno how this was produced but it has a nice played live vibe to it. The lead around 1:50 goes in some really interesting directions. Cool vocal effects around 2:40. Dug it!
