Hi everybody, hope you are all good.

i need some help, im trying to set up MACG in cubase but really cant find a way to do it.
i want to add a distortion plugin in a a channel and want MACG to auto gain compensate (distorsion plugin has no output level), how can i do that?

thanks

You need to put MAGC after the distortion plugin. Then use the output of the plugin in front of the distortion plugin as the side-chain input for MAGC.

Hi Held, thanks for replying, still cant figure what exactly to do.. do i need to put two instances of MACG in the channel in order this to work?

Post

Basically, what MAGC does is to make it's own output match the volume of the side-chain input.

So you need only one instance directly after the distortion plugin. Then use the undistorted signal as the side-chain input.

I don't have Cubase anymore, so I can't give you step by step instructions.
