Latest News: Arguru updates Aodix to v4.2.0.1

Here's the 1.3 update. It should fix the Wavelab crash problem.
Download Stardust 1.3 To install: Just unrar in vst folder. DLL included, no docs (go www.aodix.com for stardust pdf file) 1.3 --- * Uses VST1 getSampleRate instead via VST2 Timeinfo (solves Wavelab crash) * New band added to the multiband comp, placed in highs (12000Hz above). (8 bands) * Smaller and faster code, removed useless dll resources. Lemme know if you still have problems. |

You may download the installer from the website. It has been updated this afternoon with v1.3.
BTW : no need to uninstall previous version (as long as you select the same VST folder) ! |

A nice plugin for sure but 1.3 has definetly got some performance issues. In buzz "cpu monitor" v1.1 displayed around ~3.0%; v1.2 averagaed like ~3.2% and 1.3 often displays around 20% cpu consumption!!! And thatīs on an athlon running @ 2400mhz. I wonder how can u run it on your 1.6ghz mobile. |

Here running AMD Athlon 3200+ at 2.2Ghz and Stardust is only responsible for 2-3% of cpu load !! |

can you please run this test : compare cpu load with stadust's GUI open, and with GUI closed. |

hey aguru,
this is my first post here, forgive me if this content collides with something mentioned earlier somewhere in this forum. first of all : i absolutely love stardust. its unbelievable great ... (etc.etc;-)) as it is free, i dont really have the right to add some suggestions (those moaners all the way;) but i try anyways, hehe : is it possible to, 1. add a simple brickwall behind the complete signal chain ? 2. add on of switches for the seperate units ? all other than that is just great ... i`d be happy forever ... a short statement if or not would be great ... just that i know how i can handle my hopes ... thank you for reading ... kind reg, |

there's something wierd on treble enhancer's phase rotator knob - when it's not off AND it's different setting than bass rotator, it prints this: ---
otherwise - i'm deeply in love with it potential FR: is it possible that gui will someday become monochromatic/greyscale ? (or maybe like vanguard |

Hola Arguru!, thanks for Stardust 1.5. I want to report that on Orion Platinum 5.8 it crashes after 2 or 3 minutes of knobs tweaking (while it doesn't happen with the legion of other plugins I got). I don't know if other OPlat user has got the same trouble. Other than adding to the ones that whish a better multiband compression control on the bands, keep that excellent project. |

anybody else noticed the weird phase rotator knob behavior on treble enhancer? |

what are you doing exactly that makes it crash? I use Oplat 5.8 and stardust 1.5 and have no 0 crashes with stardust... I just checked it.. tweaked all the knobs on stardust and solid.. then I went and automated every single knob (all moving at the same time) and looped it so that it would play over and over.. no crashes. but maybe I'm not using your technique of crashing it anyways.. I came here really to ask what changed from version 1 to 1.4 (and now 1.5) I had both 1 and 1.4 on my hd at one time and noticed that 1 was a lot louder and rougher than 1.4 (even with the exact same settings/preset) therefore I was wondering if you had older versions available for download? I accidentally copied over my older 1 version with 1.5 ---- "Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke |

Hi VitD. Well, there's nothing wrong with the 'hotness' in the processor really.
The difference is that in 1.2 (or 1.3 not sure atm) and above, attack/release time settings in compressors works in an absolute way, this is, in example: given a threshold level and ratio, envelope attack/release time is constant and in older versions, envelope stages were reached in a "ms/6dB" manner. Imagine that wideband compressor gain is -24 dB at a certain point and release setting is at 100 ms and input is below threshold: old version: will take 100ms to recover 6dB until compressor gain reachs -0.0dB. So it will take 400ms to reach 0.0dB gain. new version: will take 100ms to recover to 0.0dB. So it will take 100ms to reach 0.0dB gain. This makes Stardust compressors envelopes with same settings in the new version(s) reacts faster to the compressor transfer curve. So in order to make it sounded like older way, you just had to tune (make longer) the attack/release times. I think i'll implement a switch to change between two modes because i'm not really sure wich mode should be better, (to me, 2nd way), it seems some compressors out there uses one method, and some the other. For 1.6 anyway, there's a little bugfix concerning envelope detection code wich made compressor reacts a bit faster that it should do given a certain threshold.
